this isnt to say that devs of any experience cant make bad mistakes with these tools, but i just think that people who actually care a good bit about engineering (even juniors!) can significantly improve their shipping speed with these things

whatever the output is, you look at it and see if it makes sense and try to understand _why_ it gave you what it did. the time savings you get from that are from my experience pretty darn high.
tbh this study is also talking about copilot which to me is far below mid, where claude is really good

something that i always assume with these data points is that the average developer using the tools is probably fairly junior and lazy. it's really easy to take ai code and trust it works, ship it, and see it fail.
the way that i always recommend using it is in a "trust but learn" mode, where

yea i’m mainly on neovim now. there’s some quirks with lsps particularly with js, and writing react kinda sucks so i might use webstorm for that but honestly everything seems so clunky after using nvim
