He is certainly taxing my patience.

The highlight for me (I watched only highlights on social media) was hearing an instrumental version of Fortunate Son as part of the music. That's some Grade A trolling.

Population 18+ is around 260 million people. 6 million would be 2.3%.

You have this totally right. That's exactly who should wear this disgusting exhibition.

I don't know that they're that detail oriented. I saw a video clip - it was an instrumental version, so it may not have been recognizable to non-CCR fans.

And they clearly don't understand who is first to go down when the coup is complete. So many examples from history (USSR, Germany) and recent history (Hungary, Russia, Turkey).

I don't *think* it was written about DJT, but it could have been.

Happy Dad's Day to you too. Here's my Dad presenting wings to RF Sedgwick of New York (1943 - Commonwealth Air Training Plan) when we worked more closely with Americans than today. Hope we can get back to it (not because of a war, though).

Yes, "balance" does not mean concealing the motivation. The murders/shootings in MN are a prime example.

How many people were Biden and Obama able to deport in their first six months — without all the legal failures in court and public demonstrations? Just asking questions. Perhaps if you don't do the work, you can't achieve the result. Perhaps having competent staff > sycophants.

They played "Fortunate Son"???? That's a clear insult to the five-time dodger.

Spending so much time figuring out how to suppress votes. Or are your people too ill-educated to count?

If we weren't in Canada, Maisie would like to contribute (she told me quite clearly).

Heather Cox Richardson jumped on it. The key bit starts around 2:30, leading up to "That's the definition of a coup."

By any positive metric you can measure, he's a failure. He's been a smashing success for Putin, though.

Red shirt, apparently left-handed. Branded communist (apologies to Paul Simon).

Salmon? That's not what goes into a fishburder. Who cares? I spent some time working along the Columbia River, & I know about the tension between the fishers & the farmers. I guess the farmers bought more meme coins.

"Keep your honor clean". Sounds like a pretty good way to live for everybody, not just Marines.

The mission was a success in spite of Hegseth. He clearly didn't learn the lesson of accountability during his time in the National Guard, unlike Vindman, who is an exemplar of how to do the right thing no matter what.

"Every minute that we spend pursuing an individual with a clean record is a minute less that we dedicate to apprehending terrorists or cartel operatives". Of course, Trump has just brought 17 family members of the Sinaloa cartel to the US, so maybe that's ok. www.cbsnews.com/news/sinaloa...

Well, you had a constitution. Noem is clearly saying they're bringing military force to LA because they disagree with the elected Mayor & Governor doing what they were elected to do. To some, that sounds like a coup. And they'll take the same philosophy to other states. Good luck, America.

Well done, Senator. I'm appalled that only one party seems to have members who are willing to do their job of oversight. Also appalled at the willingness of uniformed thugs to violently react to a reasonable question. Heads should roll.

Just watched Heather Cox Richardson video that explains Padilla was asking about ice barbie's comment that we're here for the long haul & we're not going to allow the elected Mayor & elected Governor to run things in ways we disagree with. Seems like a BFD. Might even call it a coup.

Honestly, I can't think of any one in the regime who wouldn't qualify for that.

My Dad was an RCAF officer. In situations like this, I look at the officers, not the enlisted. That commission has to mean something. The more senior they are, the more responsibility they have to get between the politicians & the troops.

So ICE is scooping up "targets of convenience", many of whom are not criminals or even illegally in the US, while sapping fed resources from chasing serious crime. Meanwhile, Trump is importing members of the Sinaloa cartel & pardoning convicted drug dealers.

Very true, and thx for your comment about Canada. I think we don't talk enough about our own history, & with the 51st state BS I like to beat the drum a little.

Europe & US, you say. Canada finished WW2 with 3rd lgst navy - that's how the lend lease was getting through. Russia was partly supplied via NW Staging Rte, up our west coast. DDay - Canada had Juno Beach, & deepest penetration on the day. We trained many pilots who won the air war, incl Amrcns.

Congress could put a stop to this. All the Republicans who are complicit or AWOL should be replaced by people who will respect their oath to the constitution & their duty to their constituents.

Report 2: 247,000 applications for unemployment last week.

Even better, just after that. Rep Lee asked her about a book - gave the title and (I think) the author. McMahon asked her to be specific. SMDH.

I had to listen to the whole thing because both these guys are cranks. As an old rugby player, I would use a different word, but sure — euphemism. Lutnick is clearly all in on the stupidity of mischaracterizing trade deficits.

If you look at all the investigative groups he's scrapping, that will track his planned grifting. He still believes that crypto is a fraud, but he was a little slow figuring out how to join in. He gets it now.

I'd say not BS at all. It was, as Timothy Snyder has explained, a decapitation strike. So much destruction of govt services. So much theft of data (under-reported). Musk self-serving. Crippling of research. No, this was deadly serious.
