If you spent $10,000 every day, you would need to have been spending money since the year 1752 to blow through just $1 billion. Musk has $393 billion. So one would need to be spending $10,000 a day, every day, since the year 105,593 BC to blow through his fortune.

Small correction. Labor camps. Next they’ll start rounding up the homeless. How long til Trump starts talking about bringing back debtors prisons, I wonder?

It’s been forty years coming to this point, ever since the “new liberals” of the 80’s, guys like Joe Biden, got behind Reagan’s economic agenda. Trump
Is just a symptom of the fascist problem this country has had for a long time.

His religion is irrelevant to me. Carter never dropped a single bomb. Humanitarian issues were central to his foreign policy. Established Departments
of Education and Energy. Put a olar panels on the White House. Expanded national parks. It all seems left wing compared to everyone who followed.

Pam Bondi is definitely on the list of those who should be held accountable when all this treason is over with.

Well that’s because they are not actually that polarized. The center has been dragged so far rightward over the past forty years that the Dems today are the compassionate conservatives the GOP used to claim to be. We haven’t seen an actual left wing president since Carter.

Plenty more to take his place. Maga has become a many-headed hydra, at this point.

No worries. Send it twice and I’ll like it twice. Nobody should forget that Trump killed over a million. I won’t forget his Covid rallies across the country, or how he told nobody of it for months, or how his supporters thought it funny to cough in people’s faces. Beyond appalling. Just evil.

How bad was Trump’s leadership? The worst, by far. The U.S. had 2.5x more deaths than the second worst country, India, and they have 9x our population and 13x our population density. Had we been on par with the best nations, we would have seen 50k-100k dead. Over a million died unnecessarily.

Reagan started the “welfare queens” bs. We’ve since undergone 40 yrs of austerity spending. Social services have been stripped to bare bones. Yet they still want us to believe that the poor are the reason we all struggle. 90% of us now subsist on just 25% of our economy. That’s why we struggle.

I love hearing this. I hope all businesses that have played ball with that Maga Nazi cabal suffer and fold.

I would go so far as to say all of the Republicans and 2/3 of the Democrats.

Yay. So we get hyper inflation instead.

And the money will all “trickle down” and Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Never trust what a Republican says.

We don’t even need to reach the horror of AI taking over like Skynet. All we need is an organized oligarchy deciding to misuse AI and depopulate us. What comes in the future as CRISPR technology takes hold? Are we headed into eugenics all over again? Will sterilization come back into style?
comment in response to

Neither do I. AI is a real wild card.

But will the upper class even have the capacity to push back then? With AI, robotics, and drone technology being where it’s at… Add the fact that we have essentially been letting private corporations to establish sovereignty in space. Humanity could soon find itself in a serious sci fi horror.

A lack of common sense too. Like how masks work, or the notion that all the virologists, epidemiologist, and immunologists, from all the private research facilities and govt health organizations, of all 195 countries, have conspired with some NWO plan to make us all sick. Just absurd.

Nope, not at all. I’ve frequently told them their lack of critical thinking skills is what makes them so easy to dupe. I suppose dissemination skills should be included there too.

There’s some great irony in the fact that the crowd who’s paranoid about Bill Gates injecting them with microchips have embraced they guy with an actual brain implant company, who has said he believes everyone should have one of his brain implants in the future.

Yes, that is the underlying theme trough all those Doge cuts. Musk really needs to be stripped of his wealth, put on trial, and locked up for life.

These fascists essentially want to eliminate government, except for the military. They want their authoritarian regime to build from the ashes, where they control everything. Worse, the evangelicals want to hasten their rapture. They all seem go be seeking destruction for one reason or another.

Naomi Klein’s book, Shock Doctrine, helped bring a lot of the puzzle together for me. In it she discusses the 4 tenets of free market capitalism: privatization, deregulation, austerity spending, and union busting. They pursue those with zeal, regardless of the damage or cost.

Totally right, what you say. They have already redistributed so much wealth from the middle class to their pockets over the past 50 years. In 1980 we had 3 billionaires. Today it’s nearly 800. Meanwhile the middle class has collapsed, from 58% in 1970 to 41% in 2020.

By “feudal state” I mean where they own all the land and wealth, and we are just the peasantry working it for them. Just look how much of the housing market has been gobbled up by private investment firms like Blackrock.

I sound like I’m contradicting myself. Hard with such short replies. By deregulating, it lets businesses function in ways to cut costs, which should boost profits initially. Ultimately, as it hurts the people, they don’t care. They will bleed us dry. They want to put us back in a feudal state.
comment in response to

I think it’s cuz they don’t care about losing $$. It’s about power to them. They want us subjugated. They weaken us so we can’t fight back. With USAID, it goes further. That’s about their white supremacy - about hurting black and brown people. We can’t forget who Musk is. That’s my take.

I keep saying, this is Nazism in America. From Trump’s eugenics talk on the campaign trail, to Musk’s sieg heils on Inauguration Day, to Trump looking for ways to get women to have more babies (white women, of course), to these ICE raids. CECOT literally looks like Auschwitz.

“Just following orders” was the most common defense at Nuremberg. After which the world said “never again!” Here we are again. “Just following orders” won’t be an excuse this time. I want accountability and justice when all is said and done.

Do something about Facebook tyranny please. With government agencies and politicians utilizing the platform to share information and political views, there comes a point when it belongs in the public domain. It has become a free speech issue, and a battle against fascism.

It’s insane. But so is a continuing to pollute the environment with fossil fuels, in the face of all the evidence that it’s leading to our demise. Corporations don’t care about the bigger picture though. They want immediate gratification. They care about making their shareholders money now.

Exactly! They all need to be held accountable when this is said and done. It’s the lack of accountability, going all the way back to G.W. Bush, that has put us into this mess.
