They are zip tying and arresting people in wheelchairs. Their “crime”? Protesting to keep their Medicaid which is a literal life and death issue for disabled people. The cruelty is the point. Remember that the Nazis started with the disabled. They tested the gas chambers on us

Hey there. Yes, the world is in a super shitty state. People are dying from genocide and other 1000% preventable causes. But you can't do everything, and you don't have to. It's okay. Take care of yourself. Breathe. And when you're ready, jump back in.

Let’s stop pretending this is just about “comfort” or “personal choice.” Masks aren’t about fear. They’re about duty of care. They’re about science. They’re about respect for life.

Elderly and disabled people told Congress that cutting Medicaid could kill people and in response, they were arrested in their wheelchairs. What the hell are we doing?

Neurotypicality is a category. Neuronormativity is a system. They are not the same. And we need to stop treating them like they are.

“The big cities don’t represent the real America!” The big cities are where most Americans live and where most of the country’s GDP is generated. I’d never claim that my little 94% white town in NH isn’t America, but NYC represents the country more accurately.

Autistic humans are often spoken about as being detail-oriented, justice-driven, truth-seeking. But no one talks about the trap that comes with that. We start to believe that our value lies in always noticing what’s wrong. ....

JUST IN: At Senate appropriations hearing, AG Pam Bondi says she was previously unaware that law enforcement are covering their faces during immigration enforcement. Sen. Gary Peters says people might resist unidentified individuals putting them in a van.

Beloit, WI revitalized its waterfront and chose this way to celebrate it: by bringing to life Georges Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte."

Got called out for posting “colorized” silent film clips (footage colored entirely by hand at the behest of the original director in 1899) which hasn’t happened since Peter Jackson’s hideous vandalism caught on. Nature is healing, etc.

there’s a lot of ways you can tell that Zohran isn’t antisemitic, but a particularly easy one is “all the antisemites on the right are mad he won”

Zohran is going to have to make SO MANY appearances with Brad Lander to diffuse some of the Islamophobia. Thankfully the two of them seem to genuinely get along.

nyt op-ed: we cannot normalize the left’s brazen attempt to win voters by talking to them

perverts, centrist dems, right wing freaks, and zionists assembling into a giant monster to challenge zohran mamdani like that one bloodborne boss thats a grotesque mass of undead bodies

Ted Cruz just said Mr. Abrego has been charged with Human Trafficking. Cruz proclaims "I read every word of that indictment!" Apparently not, because Abrego was not charged with human trafficking. I hope this comes up in a motion to dismiss the charges.

This won’t succeed but it is not normal. This is very dangerous. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

I hope the corrupt, geriatric establishment understands that their time is over. Retire now and retain what’s left of your legacy and life. Or die in disgrace.

This is a Hall of Fame reader comment on a very reactionary op-ed about Zohran Mamdani's victory that was published in my local paper today.

A reminder that the @nytimes.com told New Yorkers to not rank Mamdani at all, & instead endorsed former hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson. Tilson sits at a whopping .8%. Corporate media trust is dead. They killed themselves by failing to fulfill their promise of holding the powerful accountable.

I am elated. For the first time in my 16 years in NYC, there’s a real chance my future mayor will actually make things better. To those of you telling us we’ve got more work to do & the fight isn’t over: 🤫. Let us celebrate this win. The people of NY know what’s ahead. We don’t need you to tell us.

Does anyone know an astrophysicist willing to talk about the scientific viability of a fantasy planet? Unfortunately unemployed at the moment, so I can't pay you for your valuable time with anything but gratitude.

If their faces are covered, assume they are criminals attempting to commit a felony. Do not cooperate. Do not allow anyone else to cooperate. #Intervene #CrimePrevention

Inclusive language is literally about ensuring everyone is included. It's not erasing anyone. It's not harming anyone. It's ensuring everyone applicable is given the message. It can save lives.

It’s hard to overstate how angry rank and file Dems are at the Dem establishment right now. And if I were a self-preservationist incumbent I would take note.

Phang: If you were scrolling on social media and saw a dog locked up in the middle of the Everglades—in the sun, in the heat, in the humidity—the outrage would be wild, wouldn’t it? But then—we’re okay with human beings being treated like that?

An Indian-Muslim socialist who is openly pro Palestine is going to be mayor of a city that is bigger than 38 states

Just call them "masked MAGA bounty hunters" already Enough of this ICE nonsense Anytime any of them get ID'd, it never turns out that they work for ICE anyway but some weird obscure outgrowth of DHS (which is another way of saying they were hired in secret and without following federal protocols)

Mic drop.

Mamdani won with socialist policies that embraced all the people the current establishment left behind Show up for immigrants, homeless people, disabled people & LGBTQ+ community Show up for the most vulnerable Embrace compassion & strive for a better life for all Then the voters show up for you

Going to a convention? Wear a respirator! You can decorate it and/or try a mask chain. There’s ways to make it fun while also protecting your health & the health of those around you. Can’t afford one? Check out your local mask bloc If you can afford it, donate to these awesome orgs

“Landlords have so much data about tenants. We’re trying to undo that data disparity and fight back," says Erin McElroy (‪@erinmcel.bsky.social‬). bit.ly/4jWLfKu Have you used any of these tenant tech tools? Would you if they were available in your community? #HousingJustice #TenantPower

Mamdani was the ONLY dem candidate who opposed mask bans. Which says all you need to know about the “left” in the United States. He will now face Adams, who has said at least three separate times that he wants a city wide mask ban. Mask bans are discriminatory ugly laws that put lives at risk.

Only liars who are breaking the law are insulted. When you have no defense you attack The DOJ is supposed to be above reproach. www.rawstory.com/pam-bondi-26...

A Muslim son of immigrants might become mayor of NYC in part because he cross endorsed and supported a Jewish candidate and Black candidate, and vice versa. It's a beautiful American story for the rest of us. A nightmare for all the right people ;) It's so New York.

Lardass can play general to his shrunken little heart explodes, but: 1) His Big Beautiful Bill Sucks, and; 2) He is Still in the EPSTEIN FILES in a starring role. Period.

Mamdami was clear he does not support mask bans Imagine if we can get him to move to codify the right of New Yorkers to wear masks? I’m dreaming of the day a candidate runs on that platform Masks are an accessibility & public health issue, and a “progressive” movement includes widespread masking

Mike Johnson: "Many respected constitutional experts argue that the War Powers Act is itself unconstitutional. I'm persuaded by that argument. They think it's a violation of the Article 2 powers of the commander in chief. I think that's right."

Sleeper cells.

A pet peeve of mine is when ppl hold up lavalier mics up to their mouths in videos because it looks like amateur shit. Those mics are meant to attach to your shirt, damn it. If you wanna hold the mic, get a mic meant for holding! Damn my autistic ass, I can’t let this go!

Hope and solidarity won tonight, and will win again in November. Congratulations, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social

They’re planning on building a detention center for migrants in the middle of the fetid swamps of Florida. If you think this is something new, the first internment camp they sent me and my family to in 1942 was a barbed wire prison called Rohwer. It was located in the swamps of Arkansas.

A win! Thank you to everyone who spoke out! After facing bipartisan resistance, the Senate Parliamentarian, ruled that Sen. Mike Lee’s proposal to sell off millions of acres of federal land cannot be included under reconciliation rules.

James: His critics said that he should wait his turn. His critics said that he did not have the experience. His critics said they did not have the right name. Well, now all of them know his god damn name.

life feels like this rn

The inverse to having something brush against your leg when you’re in the ocean is having some garbage juice drip on your bare foot when you’re taking out the trash
