Doesn’t look like a clown car yet obviously, but I have high hopes of returning in a few months with a finished pic

So cool to see. I always find drawing a longform comic I wrote involes spending a lot of time physically drawing places and secondary characters. And that means I'm giving them brain space and spawning big backstories that probably can't ever be told because I'm busy working on a longform comic!

i'm not a "silly little artist/writer" "just trying to make my silly little art" and i don't think you are either. my art isn't frivolous bullshit. it has a place in the world and the world affects it. i'm not just glancing sheepishly at a distant burning house— i live inside it. don't you?

particularly mad example because if you don’t want to read in that style, literally just don’t study literature or read Bleak House….Nobody is making you read Bleak House… wyd

Thank you! I used a Wacom for 10+ years (although there are good cheaper alternatives nowadays!) and like lots of comics people, use both photoshop and CSP professionally. But I now mostly use procreate on an iPad for drawing, which I think is most intuitive if you’re used to traditional drawing!

tbh I don't really know what you call that guy either...IS it still a causeway when it's just a footpath?? the many mysteries of things I only know from seeing them

OH the b&w drawing is only there because I happened to also be drawing it that day haha. Not a stile, just there to accidentally throw everyone off

Yess idk if this is true but this kind always really reminds me of the south of Scotland and very north of England? Since I’m only ever on wheelchair accessible paths nowadays my data about a lot of Scotland is limited lol - so thank you!

Nothing like drawing ‘normal’ nature in rural England for realising a) how many things are hyper local and b) that Britain is both really nature-depleted and pretty archaic and weird

my health problems mean I almost always have to work digital now, but I like using tools for the lines that look as close to pencils as possible!

so embarrassing when people leave bad book reviews for ARC problems (which imo are more common with graphic novels because of file sizes)... almost worse than 'bad book review for late delivery'

WOW I didn't know that, that sounds intense. Yeah there is SO much rigging and also just so many other ropes, my mind is constantly boggled. And thank you!! it'll be a wee while before the thing this is for comes out, but still chipping away...
