Honestly, because they are out of country, I think they can be given some slack. Sadly, even most in the USA cannot grasp how massive California actually is, let alone how spread out the Bay Area and LA actually are.

As much as I want to believe his sincerity in standing up to Trump, I cannot help but think he is trying to play both sides to come off as a moderate for the next presidential election, should there be one.

Part of it isn’t just Trump bit also who he hired. Stephan Miller was well known for being racist in 2016, and now that he has the power, he instituted daily quotas for deportations. He doesn’t care about legal. He just wants non-whites purged from the country. It sucks.

The NRA has this racist streak in their history, wanting to insure people could get guns and stand up to injustice until the Black Panthers started arming themselves for protection. Then, it became about making sure only whites would be protected by the 2nd Amendment.

He's doing it because it's what he was put in office to do by Musk, the Heritage Foundation, and the Alliance Defending Freedom; he thinks it will get him respected by the citizenry and other world leaders, and because he hates California for not voting for him in the EC.
