I consider this using them, Disney and Universal have the money to fight the fight the rest of us want to fight, so we're using them to get what we all want. And I'm totally fine with letting them spend the money to do what is hopefully ultimately the right thing.

I am firmly on this train.
Most of what people are (rightfully) angry with when talking about pedophilia is people taking advantage the vulnerable. That's not always because of attractions people can't help, and just because you have that attraction doesn't mean you have to act on it.

I loved legos as a kid, as an adult I have lost a lot of interest because so many sets now are just 'make the thing and then stare at it' and I don't feel like there's the same re-build potential there used to be.
Plus knowing how much plastic waste goes into making them breaks my heart.

There's also the fact that Google WANTS you to use it, they don't give a shit if you're mocking it or not, they want to be able to show that people are getting use out of it. So using it mockingly is just inflating their numbers.

My issue with it, as I expressed earlier, is that using it at all is still stealing from people. Writers, not artists. If you wouldn't generate an image just to laugh at how bad it is you shouldn't be generating written results for the same reason. You're still stealing from creatives.

I write way more than I draw, and this AI shit has stolen directly from me. If you wouldn't use genAI to make art, why would you use it to write things? It's the same theft, just different targets.

I'm a software QA so I always assume it's a software issue when something goes wrong.
But there are occasionally issues where I can ONLY point to hardware issues because they literally don't make sense otherwise. They're exceedingly rare, though.

When my former roommate quit he read that part of the reason people take smoke breaks is to get away for a little bit and re-center. It helped him when he would take his usual smoke breaks but go outside and do some deep breathing instead of lighting up.
