It would go just about like this 👇

Well done! Personally, I think it's problematic that federal law enforcement agencies allow local tribalism. While I understand the esprit de corps aspect of distinctive insignia, it can create divided allegiances/loyalties.

Gas-burning passenger car produces, on average, 4.7 tons of CO2 annually. Every failed Starship launch produces around 76,000 tons of CO2. That's equivalent to 16,170 cars driving for an entire year. SpaceX plans 25 Starship launches/yr for absolutely pointless Mars operations. Do the math.

"We're working with the US Marshals." Next question would be, "Do the US Marshals know this?"f

@jaketapper.bsky.social wrote a book about the cognitive decline of a robot. Good work, Jake.

Who can identify this patch/logo that both of these goons are wearing? Just spent 20-30 minutes tweaking the image and trying image searches, etc.

Whether you like it or not, the brand is associated with one person. The two are inseparable, so the brand is now radioactive. The brand has been co-opted by a movement dragged by the majority of Americans. You don't have to like it, but put your blame in the right place.

It's not appeasement, it's enlistment.

To be fair: she didn't really refuse "them" anything. While it's problematic, to say the least, that we even have a Supreme Court Justice that is so decidedly biased towards christian faith-based organizations at all, at least she is sufficiently self-aware to recuse herself when it matters.

Can't wait to see how it ends...

We're in agreement here. I disagree with what the system has become. I'm just proposing that rich people and the majority of our current politicians will not fix the problem. It's up to us, the voters, to be informed and vote for the people that will represent us and our interests.

And the almost willfully uninformed voters elect those politicians. Yes, the rich people and politicians stack the deck in their favor but that doesn't really justify us playing their game. If the dealer is cheating, you walk away from the table and find a new dealer.

My point was that 'oligarch' has a specific meaning and it's being overused. What is the higher standard you suggest? While our laws may be imperfect, my opinion is that if every person followed every law, all the time, the world would probably be a better place. It's a pretty good starting place.

If Pritzker is not doing anything illegal then your issue is with the law, not with Pritzker. Mirriam-Webster's definition of Oligarch: "individuals who through private acquisition of state assets amassed great wealth that is stored especially in foreign accounts..." AKA - not Pritzker.

The question "Has she read the Constitution?" is making a big assumption.

The result will be the same: an ignored warning is no different from lack of warning. And they'll rationalize "see, DOGE was right, we got blown up again this year, same as last year, so all that money to the National Weather Service really didn't make a difference."
