Campbell's administration is open classist (she messaged the police chief "perfect! Yippee!" at news of arrests of a homeless person and a street medic) even by Asheville standards. Mayor Esther Manheimer's also openly contemptuous of anyone who ain't wealthy. So yeah, transit gets starved. #avlnews

This has worsened during Debra Campbell's time as city manager, with routes regularly having their hours cut, most recently about a month ago.

According to the 2023 USTS, there's something like 24,000 total detransitioners-because-they-turned-out-to-be-cis in the entire US, right? 4% of 11.11% of 1.6% of the population.
It's a less than 1 in 10,000,000 rate in the general population. Theres no way this level of attention is justified.
