they want what happened in Haiti to happen here. Soon this will be a photo of U.S./Canada border. But do we really need all that oxygen and Co2 out of our atmosphere?

In fairness, George Washington was basically a real estate developer. He supported the Revolution because it helped his land holdings in the west. He was also born into money and appeared rich, but was constantly broke. Even had to get a loan for $100 to get to his own inauguration.

These are the brilliant tacticians who used their majority to enshrine Roe as law, gave us medicare for all, stopped chemical attacks in Syria, and would never stoop to record-setting deportations to appease the right wing.

Look, you gotta just let masked men kidnap your family. This is politics!

Thanks for sharing. Lovely is excellent. One small quibble with this section. Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Israel is not. Israel is the only country claiming a right to nuclear weapons. The piece is kind of making Netanyahu’s false argument.

This wonderful new book highlights how much creative endeavors that get people together are vital to changing minds, creating communities of resistance. A concert, an art show, a chance to take photographs and meet new people are far more important than a political debate.

Breaking unjust laws is key to civil disobedience. Part of the problem is we’ve spent over two decades telling people change can be achieved without defiance, and the foundations that fund civil society wrote in conditions that no laws be broken as part of their grant-making.

If Newsom understood the gravity of what is happening he’d tell National Guard that these orders are unconstitutional and they cannot obey them. Deescalating never works with these people, and it isn’t right.

Right, it’s like how the local police can arrest someone and put them in prison for life — because they ‘enforce’ local laws.

If you really want to play the comms game, every time you say, “Don’t burn cars,” you communicate “people are burning cars!” Don’t reinforce their narrative!
Also, I don’t think I’m one to tell people what’s appropriate while their family is being kidnapped by masked men.

And this is why Dems keep losing to candidates nobody likes. Feckless, spineless and obsessed with 4-D chess moves.
People really need to understand: IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOU DO. THEY WILL CALL IT ‘VIOLENT.’
LA is not burning, doesn’t stop them from saying it is.

It doesn’t matter what they do. They already called it an “insurrection.” This attitude of “We better not do something because it will ‘blowback’” is self-defeating. Also, it’s not my place to tell people how to react to their family and neighbors being kidnapped.

Are soldiers hostages?
If Hamas returned all hostages would the war end?
Who broke the ceasefire?

I do not believe it is ok to take innocent people hostage.

In all seriousness, why do you think the hostages have not been returned? Who ended the ceasefire?
And why did Hamas attack on Oct. 7?

No tears shed for these ghouls. They have also been doing “White people are the real victims of racism,” cases trying to overturn tribal status on behalf of gambling syndicates, and laws protecting native children from being stolen by nice white christian families using Equal Protection claims.

Good thing I didn’t say “just a post.” It’s a post that *can be* interpreted as a legitimate threat, or can be interpreted as a terrible person being terrible online. What if Elon posts something dumb (always), and I respond “We need more Luigi’s,” should I go to prison for 5 years?
