So you play as Mona Sax in Max Payne 2, and it's fine. That said one of the funnier aspects of it is apparently you're not really playing as her, so much as how Max imagines her acting during that segment. You never leave Max's head during the game. So that's why she's serving like this.

Played the demo for !mrak. It's a neat blend of first-person shooting with a focus on almost Mirror's Edge style platforming where you're sent out to find and kill some poor bastard to seemingly escape the debt you've piled up. Really short demo, but not bad. www.youtube.com/watch?v=78rc...

Max Payne 1 and 2 are both 3rd shooters with a focus on bullet time, but they couldn't be farther apart in terms of what they ask of the player. In 2, you'd enter a room with bullet time on, you are never out of it, kill three guys, and a fourth one would still be in the process of turning around.

It's always a bit sad when an artist you really loved appears to just disappear. There was one Black Clover artist, Pi_mi_n_u, who drew the characters in such a unique fun style and every aspect of their account appears to been scrubbed from the internet. Hope they're doing well whenever they are.

Frustrating thing about GQuuuuuuX is I think there are things about it that are, to be frank, kinda bad, but the thing about that is clearly purposeful, the two female leads being written like two struggling dumb teens who have stumbled into a Gundam story, is being written off as mismanagement.

One thing that stands out to me reflecting on the Max Payne series is people have issues with the story of Max Payne 3, mainly some folks think it goes a bit too far, and Max having an adventure in South America is a bit too goofy. That said, you basically uncover the illuminati in MP1.

First half of Max Payne is where the shooting works best when you're dealing with mooks who aren't bulky and you can do your best John Woo act. Gets harder to do that in the back half when enemies have assault rifles that drop you in three hits and are bulkier. Still possible, but less engaging imo.

One gameplay quirk regarding Max Payne 1, that I don't know if it's entirely intentional, is that you can generally ballpark how dangerous a mook is by how much dark leather they're wearing. Mook in just a dark coat-low level mook Mook in a duster, with leather gloves-high level mook

Donkey Kong Bananza looks great. Genuinely hope I can get a Switch 2 to play it when it launches. On the other hand, I do....fear...the return of side scrolling cart levels. I've seen what they can do to men. How they...change them.
