Ah yes, the forever assertion that centralizing will surely make things more efficient, better and cheaper. Does the comrade also have a 5-yr plan for this?

So do you legitimately think that elected Democrats -- individually and collectively, at all levels of government -- are doing enough to meet the moment?

Why bother to struggle? The man's a buffoon. Well-educated but pretending to be a bumpkin. He should be openly mocked.

Pour one out for the actual professional civil servants who now have to work with and for this know-nothing child.

The NDP are only masters in shooting themselves in the foot.

Not just platforming, but giving them an significant position of authority and expertise to spout neo-nazism.

Endorsed him!

And as always, (I'll say it loudly for those on the fence), IF WHAT THEY ARE DOING IT JUST, LEGAL AND RIGHT, WHY ARE THEY COVERING THEIR FACES?!?!?

Senate Democrats should be looking to file amendments to this big ugly bill that should propose massive cuts targeting Elon's companies. There will never be better opportunity to open up this divide among the worst people.
comment in response to post
Listen, Elon clearly wants all the credit for having flung a deuce of sieg heils, so we should give it to him. Dude is a nazi.

Americans have elected Donald Trump twice, and all he and the GOP have done is lie to them repeatedly. There's a solid argument to be made that maybe all too many of them are just dumb.

If you want to get a majority of Canadians to do one thing, tell then that Stephen Harper thinks they should do the opposite.

As much as I'd just as soon see the Senators fall flat on their faces year after year, I can never fault a solid contract like that for a 5-8 d-man. That's a value contract that provides flexibility. If he plays well, great! If he needs to sit, then fine, since its an eatable contract.

Nixon didn't have state media and a sycophantic congress to help.

Sweet googly mooogly, it's a two party system! How are some people still running unopposed?!?! Poilievre's riding had 90 candidates on the ballot! Sure 87 of them had no chance, but even in the staunchest ridings voters should have choice and people do vote for other parties!

Sigh. Please take it away Stannis:

Professors might care, but it certainly seems like the administrations don't.

Meh, pages 2-40 are likely filled with covering up his misdeeds and dementia. NYT gives, NYT takes.

Hating people, maybe. But things like delivering infrastructure and healthcare are easy sells (you know, if/when democrats bother to try).

"Sure he's available to the press, but unless you watch the tape for yourself, we're going to sanewash the hell out of his nonsense and make it seem like he's only a little deranged, not completely dementia addled."

It's actually a drill diagram used for practicing the interdiction of slave catchers, used by the Boston Anti-Man-Hunting League It depicts the position of each member of an anti-man-hunting team. Upon identifying a slave hunter (SH), they would surround and basically intimidate them into leaving

While strangely, no other flights have landed in 2 hours.

Yup, because my utter disgust at the graft of Loblaws Co. is going to be overcome by a commercial with a syrupy voiceover by Michael J Fox...

You're right -- I should have been more specific. Inserting the picture is relatively easy. Getting it where you want it and getting it to stay there is the challenge.

Anyone who has ever tried to insert a photo into a Word document or even edit bullet points will also run fleeing from Microsoft's dodgy ass program.

A real man avoids the rain, because falling raindrops are too reminiscent to other fluids that can drops and that would be gaaaaaaayyyyyyyy.

They only started the 8pm this round. Rd 1 had all sorts of staggered times. LAK, NJ, WSH, MTL, TOR, COL, DAL, FLA are all pretty big markets. And I'd prefer that the league not slant things to make sure that crappy big market teams advance.

Seems bad.

Work in an age when wages have stalled and inflation is rampant. Charity in an age when the rich are increasingly hoarding or spending it on vanity projects. It'll be a hoot when the monied start whinging about having no employees since they allowed them all to starve and tanked the birth rate.

Dude, how many times in this discussion have I said that I disagree with the actions of the Israeli government? They are not blameless, but Hamas et al aren't either. You keep calling them resistance as though that allows them to do anything. Which is the DAMNED problem.
comment in response to post
Well, it is a slow news day. They got to fill the time somehow...
comment in response to post
And when you get some perspective, you can research that only the Israelis have ever negotiated peace in good faith. Have they been perfect? Fuck no. But they came to the table to make a deal and the Palestinians have had a zero sum end every time.
comment in response to post
No, I'm a staunch atheist who actively thinks that religion is the most destructive force in history. Play semantics all you want, Hamas is a fucking terrorist group with a successful propaganda and political wing.

and re. the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising: the Nazis were actively exterminating jews. Israel certainly was not pre-Oct 7. Palestinians have agency, and if they use that to cause their consequences...
