Der Temperaturkontrast ist schon beeindruckend. Die Luftmassengrenze verläuft vom Bodensee über das Rhein-Main-Gebiet, Ostwestfalen bis nach Flensburg. Östlich davon ist es bis zu 27 Grad sommerlich warm, westlich davon mit Werten von nur 7 Grad wie in der Eifel sehr kühl.
