Thinking more about this. A big piece of fascistic movements is about crushing the left. Needless to say there isn’t much of a left in the US to crush. So AI, along with their eternal victimhood complex, is how the fascists are manifesting a left to crush.

The thing is, even for what most (white) people take as their model of effective protest, contemporaneous polling showed that most white people still felt it was harmful to the cause. In other words, the finger-waggers will never approve of a protest, even if it remains nonviolent.

the question after that is why this scrutiny is directed at protestors rather than cops - who have every conceivable advantage on exactly this score (set personnel, formal responsibilities and hierarchies, etc) and who as a matter of public record consistently fail by exactly this standard
