Just as a common leftist response seems to be to think the whole world revolves around what they care about. You're being egocentric. For many people, emotional engagement and virtue signalling doesn't trump facts. Repeating labels isn't suddenly going to convince people they're real.

Your imagination isn't reality. Labels don't replace verifiable evidence. You can't say something is shrinking when it's growing.

Forgive us if we don't get excited about your holy wars.

The centrists just sitting there watching the far left and the far right creating straw men out of each other.

This has nothing to do with gathering information. This is about influencing social trends in a directed way by a state actor.

Or, you know, if your house burns down. Anyway, everyone's always surprised when they realise reliable USB storage wasn't so reliable after all.

But it's their prerogative to do so. Only because it's not a good tool for "proving God" doesn't mean it has no useful value.

So are most religious people who aren't happy to just live their own life. Funny how universal human nature tends to be...

As someone who is a believer in God... the meme's not wrong. Trying to prove God using a religious text is a little 19th century though...

Apparently someone missed a little chapter in history class titled Stalinism.

Not unlike the rise of Marxism in Russia. A lot of the fringe seems to follow the same handbook. Ideologues often feel their imagined utopia is so perfect, any atrocity, to get us there and keep us there, is justifiable.

Seems like a bold statement given we arrived here through democratic processes.

These emotions more closely resemble tantrums than opinions.

Spending all day muting accounts trying to turn Bluesky into left leaning X is not my idea of fun. It's not easy to ignore people redefining words to make a shallow political statement. Already plenty of that kind of energy on X.

I was obviously referencing the same thing as you, i.e. in no reality is that photo a "patient explanation". It's a shame people need to get snarky to cover over their insecurity though.

Nah, a lot of us have had enough of this kind of ego centric immaturity on Twitter, thanks.

Eugh. Why can't we just keep this kind of mindless emotive drivel in X.

This isn't opinion, it's just emotive incitement. Learn the difference.

Being convinced that one's right doesn't mean that being combative and petty is going to foster the kind of conversation most people want on here. Ideologues doing battle is what made Twitter so insufferable in the first place (not just difference of opinion).
comment in response to post
Hope it stays that way, too many people bringing that Twitter energy with them.
comment in response to post
But no one needs people like this importing their hateful energy here.
comment in response to post
It won't take long. People bringing the same energy here just with different opinions.

If we eschew respectful conversation won't we just end up in echo chambers and then get inevitably surprised by the outside world?

It's a shame too many people think they'll get there by being nasty.

Sad.
