Counter-insurgency, in the terms of waging an occupational war, is an expensive and costly act. Peace time with consistent low levels of aggression is the key to attrition in an occupation. Our enemies have hundreds of millions of dollars and they’ve spent millions just this week in ammunition.

Two LA photojournalists have been shot with tear gas canisters by DHS HSI, including @acatwithnews.bsky.social who was directly targeted by HSI and struck in the head. Sean is en route to the ER with obvious facial injuries. He was conscious and talking when he left the scene.

These tips aren’t for the experienced folks. This is for the folks who are haven’t deal with this stuff. Esp sign wavers. They won’t care and shoot for the face. Having goggles and a mask will keep you with your eyes and teeth. Find a helmet that you can wear with your goggles and mask on too.

Eye, face, and lung protection for cheap: - Sellstrom Fire Fighting Goggles 15-20$ - 3M Half Face respirator: 30$ *P100 multi gas/vapor cartridges 10$ per pair. You can block off one side with a cap. Fill with hot glue and press over opening until sealed. Harder to breathe but saves a cartridge.

LRAD tips: - Active hearing protection for industrial or shooting purposes. - Full 3m mask. The modern full window kind. * Fire goggles and a regular 3m cartridge mask will help too just not as much. - Anything between you and the LRAD. Trash bins and even cardboard held out front of you help.

I will remind everyone that tear gas is an abortifacient and hormonal disruptor. In 2020 we were trying to conceive. The day after getting teargassed, I bled worse than I ever had in my entire life. My periods were not regular for about 6 months after.
