I ran two 50m sprints with my students on the track team (they were practicing indoors due to weather and I was on my way out to my car) because they begged me to.
It was an intense jog, not a sprint, but my calves insist that I went through a full workout. Shocked I still have achilles tendons.

They LOVED Herbert.

DJ was never a good pick though. Even then. People were SCREAMING for Josh Allen (the DE, not the QB) at that pick. Going RB at 2 in the best QB draft in a while was bad enough, but panic drafting Jones when they really wanted Herbert (who went back to play with his bro) was the real disaster.

Many people point to the Burler pick as the play that anointed Brady as the GOAT, but he wasn't even involved in it. That's absurd.
Or leaning on super bowls vs playoffs. Why is Brady's comeback vs the Falcons (and their 27th ranked D) betrer than Mahomes 24 pt comeback vs the Texans?

But that's the issue w/ ring counting: It relies too heavily on the team around you and the luck of the draw.
How many rings did Brady win/Manning lose because the Steelers and Chargers(who gave Manning problems) got past the Ravens and Broncos(who gave Brady problems)?
Or even Malcolm Butler? 1/2

I'm a Giants fan, so I remember. I also remember him sucking. Do you remember Mahomes's incompletion while flying through the air horizontally with the same reverence as Brady heaving the ball deep to Moss(like any QB he ever had used to do all the time)? I can tell you which one is more impressive.

Also, Mahomes has led the league in TDs twice.
comment in response to

This was mainly due to down years and injuries to the other top QBs. It wasn't an era thing. A QB has led the league with 28 or less TDs TWICE since 1982.

So compiling stats from a 22 year career vs someone who has played a third of that?
I would hope Brady would have more for his sake. Especially when some of those don't tell the full story. For instance, Brady led the league with 28 TD passes in 2002.

A super bowl means the TEAM was good. It's not solely a reflection on the QB. If the Eagles blew their game vs the Rams and then beat the winner of Rams/Commanders, does that suddenly make Mahomes a better QB?
comment in response to

By the "only championships matter" metric, sure. In other ways, Mahomes has already passed Brady.
He does everything better than Brady already: more explosive, more efficient, better runner, more arm talent, turns it over less, wins at a better clip, the list goes on and on.

Brady had bad super bowls against the Giants (07) and the Rams (18)
And he had plenty of stinkers in earlier rounds.
Mahomes has never lost in the divisional round. He's never lost wild card weekend. He's never missed the playoffs. Brady has done all of those things multiple times!

He still has it in the bag, but doesn't really have a legit deep threat (Worthy is a small bodied rookie with catch point issues coming out) and is more effective playing this way. A lot of teams force him to go underneath with their coverage too.

I did the same, but I just deleted my account today. I'll sign back up if something good emerges from the ashes someday(and there is new ownership), but I doubt it.

Have you MET strangers?
They suck!!!
Arcades were definitely more of a Gen-X thing than us, but even then, you had to look the other guy in the eye. Play with honor instead of hunting glitches to grind your way up an imaginary leaderboard.
And games are ALWAYS better against people you know.

Like who?
I don't think Schoen signs X or Saquon for what they got given where we are in the rebuild regardless of cap space.
They signed him and tagfed Saquon SO they could sign others because his tag number was too high.
comment in response to
post
It was the right move at the time because there were no reasonable alternatives given the limited cap(thanks Dave) and draft capital.

He was mediocre at best.
The team had a winning record against a cake schedule and beat a paper tiger with an all-time bad defense in the playoffs before getting massacred the following week.
One could argue he held the WRs back as much as they held him back.
comment in response to

Their hand was forced when they signed him. Their cap situation was rough and they were picking way too late to move up and get another QB.
Even still, they built a flexible enough deal to get out after 2 years.
And the whole reason he was a FA was b/c they turned down his 5th year option.

It's not that they can't let go. They're all dredging up stuff to use in Mahomes discourse.
