One month into parenthood, I have been thinking about when people say you don't know what love is until you have a child blah blah blah. I can understand how they get there. The way I love my child is very different, and very intense. I disagree that it's the only way to experience love.

Re: MAGA defunding cancer research while celebrating cancer survivors. When your entire belief system is rooted in punishment & purity, finding treatments for illnesses starts looking like subverting "gods" will. And survivors of those same illnesses are heralded as evidence of "gods" compassion.

I was laid off the week I learned I was pregnant. No worries, there's robust social supports for pregnancy. I'm due this week and spent the day frantically using up my WIC and SNAP for the month before I lose those, and trying to figure out a plan if I go into labor without insurance. Very cool.
