I canceled my Twitter and vaguely regret that right now. Please, somebody, direct me to a comprehensive logging of the meltdown somewhere on Blue sky lmao

Why do you think every restaurant employee you know is so stressed out all the time? It weighs on our psyche.

This is not a universal feminist position, I am also a feminist, and there are plenty of other horrors to explore about fascist and authoritarian regimes without inclusion of sexualized violence. But it is okay for us to disagree about a TV show.

It really seems like this administration is openly admitting that all of their fussing about DEI was never about disproportionate representation, but the existence of any members of marginalized groups in the public eye.

Who's left to enforce laws if the FBI is now also corrupted by them? This is frightening. Why are FBI agents complying??

So I guess if somebody defines love is how much you're willing to sacrifice for another person, I can see how they end up at thinking the love for a child is the purest and best form of love. I think it's different. Special, intense, but not any more important than other meaningful relationships.

A lot of its qualities don't really translate to other types of relationships. An infant is demanding, draining on your body and your emotions, and the relationship is entirely one way. The way I love my daughter is completely selfless and without expectations or boundaries.

Yes, that too! A quick trick if you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to turn off biometrics on your phone, but don't have enough time to go into settings is to power down your phone. Phones require a passcode when powering back up.

Honestly I'm relieved the Democrats are finally making a ruckus. Maybe this is the start of some serious pushback.

I just gave birth but will be cheering everyone on remotely. Trying to figure out other remote ways to support beyond "vibes."

Don't bring your phone, or if you do turn off biometric logins. Police can compel a fingerprint but not a passcode. If somebody suggests escalating actions like property damage, don't take the bait. Wear a mask and generic outfit.

We were going to go to CA this fall to introduce the baby to her family there, but I think we'll be taking the train unless something dramatically changes.

(I am very prone to getting myself all worked up and later realizing it wasn't as bad as I thought. So this was uncomfortable to read but also helped me stop gaslighting myself about my concerns.)

My property taxes are due in 2 weeks and I'm genuinely concerned the check I wrote for them won't clear if the banks go through some crisis like that.

Musk destroys everything he touches. Including, apparently, the futures of 6 kids who are talented programmers and drank the Kool aid offered by a wealthy egomaniacal cult leader.

What can we do? I feel like I'm watching a coup unfold in real time and all the government agencies that are supposed to protect us from this just... Aren't.

J's convinced she's going to come on Sunday. I sure hope so. But also losing insurance postpartum with a newborn is.. not great...

If you voted and didn't vote for tr*mp nothing to apologize for. Call your senators! This spending freeze is not only illegal, but puts many people in immediately precarious situations.

"Have more babies." "Okay but also go fuck yourself if you need help while having those babies."

I'm due this week and absolutely freaking out about the possibility of being uninsured for childbirth & immediate postpartum care. I'm supposed to be fussing about nursery setup, not panicking about the sudden loss of vital survival structures! Fuck.
