An interactive visual novel murder mystery told piecemeal across multiple routes with a colorful cast of characters, thrilling storytelling, and brilliant creative writing. And holy heck did they stick the landing, what a phenomenal story!

Mistborn: The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
Sanderson does an exceptional job at driving home just how frightening the end of the world is. The bleakness, the planet systematically failing over the course of the story is *terrifying*

The second book in the original Mistborn trilogy, it definitely suffers from being the middle part. Lots of politicking in this one and world building to set up for the third book. The last act of the story is *phenomenal*.

This show's biggest weakness is that you could probably only watch episodes 1, 2, 3, and the finale, and you would basically get the story - everything else was basically filler.

Would make a good double feature with "The Big Short". The movie is about a financial institution's downfall at the beginning of the 2008 financial crisis. These fuckers will lie and cheat and rig the game, but they can't stand suffering the consequences of their own actions.

Apparently it's based on a book series. It's camp, but it knows it's camp, but it also tries to take itself a *little* seriously.
