For Dems in office right now, an authoritarian state is just a side effect they can live with if it keeps them in office where they can maintain access to the ultimate in insider trading tips. I think what people need to realize is that almost nobody in power actually believes in anything.

When I was a kid, they'd still tell us Christopher Columbus discovered America until high school with zero correction or historical context. Even if our parents correct us at home or we learn the actual history, being factually correct doesn't match what's on the test, and that's what gets graded.

I find people of all sorts of gender expressions, body types, adults of a wide age range, etc. attractive. But I'm not about to sit here and do a bunch of Excel sheets to get the stat breakdown and find the box that fits just to appease the gatekeepers of queerness. Let the lesbians do their thing.

Legit the only reason I don't identify as pan is because I've only ever dated women and the number of masc-presenting people I've found attractive is so low as to be barely worth counting. I just don't feel like we need to break everything down into labels.

I didn't mean to come back but through the right lens it really starts to feel like some JK Rowling bullshit

I feel like unless your self-identification is in Rachel Dolezal territory there's nothing to argue about? Let people live, stop policing who they fuck.

As a cis guy with a lot of trans friends it frustrates the shit out of me because literally all you have to do is ask and they will just tell you.

Somewhere in the top 10 list of most frustrating things about what's happening is "jfc I listened to one audiobook about the rise of the third reich and how has nobody seen where this is going."

I'm getting big "and then my toddler said 'wakanda forever' and Kamala Harris heard her and shed a single tear! #resist" vibes at first glance

People like to shit on suburban boomers for weak actions but of everybody I saw going off in 2017, the only people still doing it in my town during Biden were these three old ladies who would get their Starbucks at 7am and stand across the street with signs until rush hour. Been 8 years, still there

Not a ton of dignity in working really hard without acknowledging your own unfair treatment.

Katherine Ryan called him out on this on UK Roast Battle a while ago and it was super satisfying to read about. It's been an open secret among UK comedians for years, but I feel like at this point you can catch the vibe on guys like this without being told.

And I hope they never try. I'm too into what I'm doing and too busy to wait for Steve from Investor Book Production to cry and wash out, no matter how satisfying it would be to watch a middle manager fail at a real job on day one.

I left an office career for landscaping and I absolutely feel happier... But there's no way I could do it without my wife earning 2x what I make plus a bunch of trauma that makes me bust ass to not leave others picking up my slack. I can't think of anyone from my past who could make it a day here...

Can't wait to see how they dump all the losses onto poor people who never had access to play the game in the first place.

When she started doing solo pop, and with how wildly different and shallow it was compared to No Doubt, I raised an eyebrow. Every move she's made since then had me questioning not just her authenticity but pretty much every punk-adjacent band around. Emo even harder bc of the misogyny in 2nd wave.

It's very annoying to me personally that my work boots come with red laces by default. According to the Gen z kid I asked, it's not as much of a thing now but I'm not about to play with it.

It's almost like selling out your student body and punishing them with expulsion and potentially ICE involvement has prospective students feeling their money would be better spent elsewhere. What a shock.

An appetite for risk that only benefits him if it works out and only hurts his detractors if it doesn't. It's like a landlord letting your place fall apart: you're the only one who gets hurt if the place collapses around you, the landlord can just sell the lot. If it doesn't he still gets your rent.

This is why I eventually reverted back to "asshole." It has a broad spectrum of uses and isn't gendered. If someone is a legit Karen or TERF I'll use those terms (on men too), but unless someone is checking all the specific boxes for those... they're just an asshole and nothing special.

If every oversized non-work truck in the metro Boston area got seized holy shit what an awesome life we'd all have over here. And for good measure, raise the tolls on those specifically, and start ticketing them when they just stop in the street to update Google maps instead of pulling over.

They pretty much use the intro riff as a leitmotif for over the top stress, the quick tempo and dissonance really nails the vibe. It's like the Nirvana stuff from The Batman movie, but way more effective and you're thinking about it in context rather than going "oh they used a song I know 20 times."
