How do you get through college - no, life - without realizing that not all doctors are MDs?! I can’t fathom he doesn’t know better.

Rephrasing for those moving too fast:
Raising profound ethical issues, Trump plans to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8 plane as a donation from the Qatari royal family that will be upgraded to serve as Air Force One and then plans to continue using it as a private citizen after office.

“Considering”… In what universe of our constitutional democracy does an unelected appointee have any right to “consider” an abrogation of our civil liberties?!
The GOP talks about limited government, but this sure as he** is not it! This unconstitutional overreach should alarm everyone.

What a good example he’s setting, showing us the importance of limits and sacrifice.

Nonsense. Hogwash. Malarkey. BS. For heaven’s sake! Any sane person that knows anything about public schools knows no one is pushing communism! All we want is for kids to love learning & to believe this country is worth saving. So many are struggling right now, due to chaos sowed by Miller et al.

How this for the sculpture garden? It seems to capture the mood.
“Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry…”

A bunch! I wonder if he knows how “woke” Helen Keller was, for example. And still trying to wrap my head around how Columbus embodies the American spirit 🧐.

I’m eternally grateful for having had the opportunity twice… and pray I will again. I’ve made lifelong friends and learned and seen things I’ll never forget. I know these experiences are intangible, but they benefit our kids in untold ways.
Forgive the understatement, but it’s such a shame.

Hate is too great a burden to bear. This administration is really overburdening itself.

Such a great conversation! Everything about your conversation rang bells for me about why we study history—which is precisely the reason this administration keeps finding ways to stifle its exploration. Here’s hoping their oppressions continue to ignite a firestorm of curiosity and action!

Pretending the negative didn’t exist is not exactly a recipe for societal harmony, last I checked.

Such a fraught moment to lose a moral force and voice of compassion.

Absolutely. Back in early 2016 before there was any constitutional power behind it. There were frenzied crowds at his rallies that sent chills down my spine. I still remember where I was when Rachel Maddow started talking about it. We knew he was on the path. Now we're here.

Improved diagnostic screening has led to awareness that this is not a “once size fits all” diagnosis. This has led to more acceptance & supports for kids who need services. As a parent of a kid diagnosed in his teens, I’m grateful for the wider lens. I fear RFK set society back several decades.

Not even an attempt to show a shred of respect for our constitutionally enshrined civil liberties, or the existence of any other branch besides the executive. It’s taunting, for sure, and as you note, should be taken for less daunting. If they knew they were in the right, they wouldn’t try so hard.

Ready for it. There’s only so much power abuse one can take.

I know what you mean; wasn’t disagreeing at all. I’m very scared & angry. I feel like I’m watching my country slip away in a very fundamental way. And writing letters doesn’t feel nearly enough. I don’t understand the mindset that it’s business as usual, just partisan bickering. It’s so much more😢.

I never understand the “just politics” retort. Politics intersects with identity, culture, peace, health, even the air we breathe… literally everything that affects our lives. There’s no “just” about it—and in the Trump era, nothing about what’s happening is just, in any sense of the word.
