I don't disagree, but it's a useful quantitative example of the value of US universities that came out recently. I am stunned that we have to defend education in this day and age. The Republicans increasingly resemble the Taliban.

This is a great example of how plate tectonics has shaped biogeography. As someone who grew up in Laurasian-dominated forests, I am amazed at the seussian appearance of Gondwanan flora. And that's why anecdotal experience and modeling data sets may look quite different!
