Half a billion dollars would do a lot to make Florida more affordable for actual Floridians. And I’m guessing the true cost of this boondoggle will be A LOT more than this estimate.

It might mean “utterly destroy,” it might mean, “really mess up,” and it might mean, “cause to move to a new location.”
It really depends on which part of the same administration you’re asking.

Until and unless that changes, candidates at every level will depend even more on regular folks like you and me to dig deeper and support the ones who reject corporate cash.
These are changes that are possible, but we have to ask for them … and demand them when asking politely doesn’t work.

We also need a Congress that will end the scourge that is “Citizens United.”
Make no mistake, campaigns are expensive, and like everything else, they’re getting more so.

It gets a lot harder to say no at the state and federal level, and that’s where new laws need to be put in place to level the playing field. There are plenty of great finance reform ideas out there, and it’s time we pressed for them to be implemented by legislatures across the nation.

Bonus points for spelling, though.

Stop worrying about winning arguments. There are no points for that. None. Winning elections - on a consistent, multi-term basis - is what matters. THAT is how you implement policy.
The national media’s story about who “wins” arguments is pre-ordained, and factually incorrect.

“Who is running the show?”
Ultimately, no one.
These folks have not gotten better at governing. If your core organizing principle is “Gubmint is Bad,” it’s inevitable that you will be bad at gubmint.
Which is not to say that there are not dozens of people running dozens of scams. There are.

The shooter apparently texted a family member “Dad went to war.”
That, friends, is terrorism.

For instance, in my city of 149,000 (rounded) last year we had 8 murders. So:
8/149000=0.0000537
And then
0.0000537 X 100000=5.37
For a rate of 5.37.

My bad. Now it’s 4,000 Guard troops.
Pretty soon that’s gonna be real cheddar.
