So I did the math on a tax deduction for car loan interest, and I just don’t think it will end up moving the needle much on car sales. Even with very little down, a long tenor (72-84 months), and poor credit...principal payments will eat middle-income buyers alive. Interest is less an issue. 🔌🚗

Actually, Saddam was probably more convinced than Bush that Iraq had an active chemical weapons program.

So Francis got da Vinci as a legacy act in residence for the last three years of his career (and life), after a storied career in Southern Europe. That basically makes da Vinci the 16th Century Messi.

“Fossil fuels don’t need subsidies” I scream as I dump another $100B from the general fund into roads because raising the gas tax to pay for them is tantamount to treason

30 years from now, some Gen Alpha dad is gonna do a [whatever the mid-century equivalent of TikTok is] video with a montage of all the Millennial-owned vacation homes he rents, remarking that their bookshelves contain nothing but The Power Broker and all seven Harry Potter books.

"The last coal plant in the country has officially closed...after more than 40 years in operation, state utility ESB said. Also this year, Italy will shut two major stations, and Spain’s remaining ones will be decommissioned or transformed into gas plants." 🔌💡 www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

The magic of used bookstores is randomness, and a few weeks ago while scanning the shelves at Half-Price Books, I found an old Lee Iacocca bio for $1.99. I finished it this week, and it’s helped me see those echoes of the 1970s in today’s US automotive sector. 🔌💡🔌🚗 insideevs.com/features/763...

RETVRN (to books)

When I got my Equinox EV at the beginning of the year, I don’t think I saw any others in the wild for at least a couple months. Now I’m seeing them almost daily. Even finally saw one with my same blue-and-white two-tone paint scheme yesterday. Progress! 🔌💡🔌🚗

I would simply make smaller cars that are lighter, cheaper, and less costly to repair. 🔌🚗 www.wsj.com/lifestyle/ca...

Okay but what is Georgia’s if you remove UGA Bulldogs from the equation

I remember at an AV conference many years ago seeing a presentation on AVs and liability, where one of the takeaways was increased inclination to sue an AV operator following a collision vs. another human driver. More empathy for the other driver, vs. a deep-pocketed faceless corporation

I’m more bullish about the US EV outlook than BNEF’s downer 2025 forecast that dropped yesterday, in part because there are real signs Detroit is taking product development seriously as they need to be…even if it’s a bit slower and more under-the-radar than before. 🔌💡🔌🚗 www.axios.com/2025/06/18/f...

I’ve spent weeks thinking about how to properly articulate this message, but with the jarring legislative text we’re seeing on the 45X tax credit (among other things), it’s clear the mining sector has done a poor job messaging policy needs on critical minerals. 🔌💡 www.linkedin.com/posts/nathan...

"EVs will be 1 in 4 cars sold in 2025." Global 2025 EV sales of 22 million are ~6 times higher than 2020 EV sales! #energysky

“Oil majors are no strangers to boom-and-bust cycles. But now the challenge may be structural. The rapid adoption of EVs, especially in China, has surprised the industry. Many oil majors now concede that their production will probably peak within the next decade.” 🔌💡 www.ft.com/content/46e6...

Guy just whipped out his phone at the coffee shop to play Johnny Horton’s “Battle of New Orleans” for this French woman and is now explaining the story behind it. I don’t know whether I should be annoyed at the no-headphones music while I try to read or glad to know I’m not the biggest dork here.

the longer the LLMs go on, the more i feel its not really "artificial intelligence" so much as "artificial familiarity"

Easier to set up reduced fare programs for the people who need it…rather than starving agencies of needed operating funds and degrading the experience for everyone subjected to nuisance riders.

I think it’s safe to say that professional political candidate Keisha Waites won’t clear the threshold to avoid a runoff in the GA PSC Dem primary. So we get yet another statewide election next month.

Voted in the PSC primary today and was #27 at the Midtown precinct. At like 245pm. This better be the quickest tally in Georgia elections history.
