My argument wasn't that these countries are still socialist, but that since imperialism, these countries each experienced a revival and cultural golden age under socialism

Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Yugoslavia, even Romania, even though Ceausescu was a complete and total moron.

I'm sure you'll quote the CIA black book at me without doing ANY actual demographic growth research, also provided by the CIA that disproves their own death toll numbers.

You just listed two of at least a dozen examples. Cuba, Norway at the turn of the 20th century, Vietnam, Bolivia, Indonesia under Sukarno, Angola, Mongolia, post-war North Korea, Argentina under Juan PerΓ³n, Brazil under Lula. I'm running out of characters here buddy.

Even by capital-based metrics such as GDP, GDP PPP, GDI, etc there is an unprecedented growth-rate. What is your point?
comment in response to post
Yes, in fact, every time wealth is socialized and property is redistributed, there is an unprecedented growth in happiness, well-being, life fulfillment, cultural engagement, life expectancy and quality of life, literacy, higher education, science, success in marriages and child birth, etc.

What's interesting about this rhetoric is how quickly it falls apart if you switch who initiates the dialogue! Now that's not very sound rhetoric.

And even IF these conditions CAN contribute to perverse calculated actions, nobody would try to deny their actions first, and then blame their neurodivergence after denying their actions becomes untenable.

Maybe there is truth to it then... /s
comment in response to post
My last sentence was totally facetious btw! I wholly agree.
comment in response to post
Blaming neurodiversity for horrible and shitty behaviour only serves to magnify the horrible and shitty aspects of someone's character. Maybe their neurodivergence blinds them to this truth!

Not to be that guy but this post is being sarcastic "What's easier, change like 500 people or change 300 million" Obviously the problem is at the top

comment in response to post
Never ever did I pretend. It's fine if there was a miscommunication but I'm not having this conversation to prove you wrong or make you look stupid. I'm trying to have a constructive conversation. Emphasis on the trying.
comment in response to post
I didn't feign ignorance. I was making the point that it didn't matter if there was a dem majority during Biden's presidency because there was already a period in time (where Biden was a senator) that the dem HAD a super majority TO codify Roe v. Wade. And they didn't! They didn't even try.

@blackwillow1.bsky.social Hello, I'm not sure if you remember me but I remember you. Thank you for reminding me that there is a human on the other side of the screen. I hope this exchange is proof to you that people can change for the better. Thank you for taking the time to help me see more clear
comment in response to post
Okay dude. I tried. You're more focused on being right than having a constructive conversation. I wish you the best of luck in the one life we've been given.

I did understand that. However, I was making, again, a broader point. But since you want to talk about Joe Biden, I wonder what his stance on abortion was for 99% of his career... Let's ask him! www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019...

You know nothing about me. I'm a completely anonymous stranger on the internet. Get a clue and a grip.
comment in response to post
I'm making a broader point here: If they wanted it done, it would've been done already.
comment in response to post
Also, you can't say that the dems support these things. Again, all of these things are not protected under the democrats. You completely ignored the rest of my response to you. Joe Biden used his presidential powers to DESTROY the momentum of the labor movement's solidarity when he stopped the RR Un

But please keep insulting me and proving every person who didn't vote for the dem party right
comment in response to post
Really? Since 1973 Dems have never had a filibuster-proof majority? Because I remember a four year period, right after Roe v. Wade where the Dems DID have a filibuster-proof majority. Interesting that after Roe v. Wade was passed that the Dems had a majority in the senate... Huh...
