My dad's taste is the exact opposite of mine in 99% of cases, but he did love Billy Connolly and took my brother and me to see him perform live on a number of occasions (he often toured New Zealand), so that counts for a lot.

Tell you what, I got so much better at drawing as a baby cartoonist when I asked friends and relatives to write scripts for me. They'd ask me to draw things I never considered/was shit at drawing, so I had to constantly devise new solutions. That problem-solving muscle gets strong really fast.

Silly cartoonist query: I've just used up the last of my Schoellershammer Airbrush Paper No. 4, which is *incredible* for inking on, and when I tried to find some more online I'm coming up with nothing. Did they go out of business or something? Are Schoellershammer still around?
