Reporting LIVE from our future 51st state, it's the RBC Canadian Open! Fingers crossed they don't detain me at the border for being a CONSERVATIVE just like MY FATHER was detained in Vietnam or wherever that I steal his valor from to make a name for myself

A few weeks back at my in-laws and their barnhouse for guests has the most basic cable, same thing. Put on SC for the first time in forever. Just no juice, and I swear it took 15 minutes to show a single highlight. Just cannot fathom watching that show regularly.

Yes, that is definitely the thing he is most remembered for.

They’re pretty good. There’s other flavors too, pineapple, maybe watermelon? Solid summer drink.

31 unforced errors. More like SADbalenka.

Yeah when it’s up it’s maybe 6 inches higher than I would like, but given our layout and couch setup, I wasn’t going to argue too much. Especially since if we want, we can drop the TV around 2 feet with the wall mount we bought.

Yeah that’s the part I don’t get. The colleges aren’t giving them that NIL money, so other than having it to spend, I don’t quite understand why people would just up and give these athletes money like that.

Not in all cases! Look at Texas Tech softball. That pitcher got over a million bucks, and will get it again next year, to play a sport where there is no pro option, and outside of two weeks isn’t really on TV.

The idea of someone being a career “student” and playing 12 years at Georgia or wherever is beyond stupid. But you absolutely know they’re going to come after it under that line of saying the eligibility limits damage their earnings potential or some shit.

Best of both worlds! We were kind of painted into a corner, literally, by our sectional. It’s a great piece, but man it’s huge and doesn’t allow much flexibility.

And yeah, mirror spot would be my pick of those two options.
comment in response to post
Yeah, see the view from the couch would fine since that’s a little farther away like our sectional is, but those chairs, that’s terrible.

But it also helps our fireplace is gas. And if we want, but don’t much because our kid wants to hit it, we can lower it about 2.5 feet to that height.

Forgot the picture.

Ignore the toys, and I say this as someone who thinks TVs over the fireplace is way too high, but I’ve found ours is good. I’m 5-11 and the middle of the screen is about face height standing. But. We also have I think a shorter mantle and a 20x20 living room so the couch is farther from the screen.

Just going to guess that it would be a uh, slight pay decrease for you. But in all honesty, it pays more than I thought it would, even if you also have to "teach" some no-show class for freshmen orientation.

Of course, based on what I read on here yesterday, half of you would have the pitcher batting. So maybe it's best you don't apply.

I don't know if I could recreate this again if I tried. Somehow just the right combination of them calling deep balls on every play, and then Green Bay in this season being TERRIBLE and easy to beat over the top.

Yes I would. Wait.

Man I haven’t seen the OG Whitecaps logo in a LONG time. It has uh, not aged well lol.

We also did another race where we all made Ukraine themed cars.

And especially now that pitchers have to record 3 outs or end the inning, it really allows managers to tinker with their bench more and play for matchups late. One out in the inning and the manager brings in a lefty? Well righty slugger or key bat with the day off, get warmed up, you're on deck.

I was going to say, the "IT ADDS STRATEGY!" really didn't. If they were pitching well, you let them "hit" and if they weren't or it was a tight game, you pinch hit for them. Wow, a real brain buster.

The, "Good Baseball Opinion Havers" are logged on.

I was just about to add, especially now that pitchers only go 5 innings or so, you'd end up wasting all of your bench on pinch hitters for relievers, or you're going to have a reliever batting come the 8th inning and absolutely NOBODY needs that.

It's not even the "Make an out" thing that bothers me about pitchers hitting. It's the, "Stand there and watch three fastballs go by" waste of an AB that really irked me. Oddly, when pitchers still hit it felt like the AL guys were the only ones swinging, because that was their only shot that year.

Universal DH is good. If your team has bench guys who aren't getting regular reps or ABs, they're either a bad player, or you have a manager sitting on his hands. Look at Seattle and Detroit and how often they mix and match to take advantage of matchups. They're also both contenders as a result.

What gets me too, is they have club and apparel deals, which you would THINK would also allow them access to coaches and stuff that could really help them. And nope. Same broken swings that you see every Saturday at the local muni.
