Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

I haven't asked that many people, but those I've asked are not going. Includes my phd supervisor, my current lab, and OTN in general. Word on the grapevine is that many Europeans are likely staying out as well, but I can't say for certain there. @fishybiologistkim.bsky.social might have an idea?
