I see it as a structure rather than a spectrum. Front of house - incompetent nutters. Back of house - disaster capitalist insider traders. When you know what the nutters will do next, you make a killing.

One of my best moments in early independent life was at the cheap end of Ridley Road, near the end of the trading day. A trader had a load of boxes of yellow peppers, part spoiled but mainly sound. I asked how much for one box, he looked at me and just gave me all of the boxes.
