It's always nice when good news makes the headlines and the story of the missing three year old in Quebec has had, in the words of the SQ spokesperson "the best possible outcome". It is our top story on CBC News Network at 7 and 8 eastern and we expect more details from police.

A low-key good samaritan and a grateful family. A story from Montreal that reminds us of all the good there is out there youtube.com/watch?v=5LqE...

Thanks to Sarah Z for telling her story. It's an important message (and it was a nice bonus to connect with a Mount Allison alum!).

This is my Dad's old typewriter. That alone makes it special. But only now have I appreciated how beautiful it is. The lines. The colour. Form and function.

"It is hard to make sense of something so senseless". Interim Vancouver Police Chief updating last night's terrible tragedy. Says 11 people killed and that number may rise. Driver has history of contact with police and mental health history. Crown has not yet laid charges.

There have been a few times when Checkup has been hammered on social media for a program we haven't done yet. I'm in a show meeting right now. The gap between what's being posted and what we're actually planning is enormous. Our regular listeners should expect the same care we use for every show.

Lots of thoughtful social media criticism of our question for Sunday's Checkup and we listened. The new question: what do you think of Trump's comments about Canada becoming the 51st state? The show's being simulcast on more than 100 NPR stations. It's a chance to make your voice heard.

I see some people are upset with our topic Checkup Sunday. With President Trump repeating his "51st state" comments, we feel it is important to talk about. Even better, for Americans to hear our voices via the NPR stations that will be simulcasting.

Small quake jolts Vcr. I felt a small bump in downtown Vcr. You?

Here's the "best view" asking price for a ticket to tonight's Canada USA final. How much would you pay?

After 33 years of marriage, I realize my wife and I are irreconcilably split on the issue of jigsaw puzzles.

#flagday at Saturday morning ball hockey. Canadian jerseys are just part of it. The deeper meaning is being able to keep a friendly, competitive game going for more than thirty years, with players from a wide variety of backgrounds. Perfectly Canadian. 🇨🇦🥅💪🏾

Sunday on Checkup we're asking "How has Donald Trump's presidency changed the way you feel about being Canadian and celebrating your patriotism?" Should be a great conversation as we hear voices from across Canada. You can also reply here. I'll read some of the social media comments on the show.

From vacations to groceries to doing business...how is the Trump presidency changing your plans? What's your Plan B? That's hour one of Checkup Sunday on CBC Radio and News Network. Skip the queue if you like and reply here.

Discovered at a park in the British Virgin Islands. Kept hoping someone would show up with hockey sticks.

The rare unfilled seat. So rare it deserves a post!

Merry Christmas from snowy Sackville New Brunswick (and the iconic Marshland's Inn).

When the "Severe Weather Alert" warns of the danger of falling trees and the branches, it matters. The view in the neighborhood after last weekend's wind storm.

That was quick. Mail at 10:45 Tuesday!

Breaking News: Canada Post says the Canada Industrial Labour Relations Board has ordered union workers back on the job, starting at 8 am local time Tuesday.

Checkup is not on tv this afternoon but as always, 52 weeks a year, we're live and on CBC Radio at 4 et/1 pt. Already getting lots of potential callers in our 1st hour topic: the Trump "jokes" about Canada as the 51st state. 2nd hour: are kids in school ruder these days?

A proud member of boarding group 8 of 9. Anyone in Dallas want to store my carry-on😁?

Playing the "first Canadian brand spotted on a trip outside Canada." Wasn't expecting this: Fluevog Shoes in a hipster neighborhood in Dallas

Just had the most pleasant experience with US Homeland Security at YVR. The officer was friendly. Welcoming. I used to dread going through Immigration into the States. You can be vigilant and welcoming.

Of course I asked Matty Matheson about The Bear and his NSFW Youtube videos. But who had a reference to "Sappyfest" on their Sunday Interview bingo card? youtube.com/watch?v=EfeH...

With the last concert in the Eras Tour happening three blocks away from work, I thought I'd walk by. What a scene. Fans lined up outside. No ticket. No problem. I've never seen this at a concert here.

Lots of questions about what's happened in Syria and what's next. On the first hour of Cross Country Checkup - starting at 4:06 et - an expert in the region will answer your questions. Our call-in on tipping culture is now in the second hour on CBC Radio and News Network.

Our topic on Checkup Sunday: which services deserve a tip and which don't. Is it a fair way to pay workers? I hope I can use some of the replies in the show.

The National from a chilly Moncton tonight. As always, the major stories of the day. We'll also look at New Brunswick's health care crisis and the Premier's plan to make changes, quickly.

CBC is helping our audience Make the Season Kind with special programming across the country. I'm in Moncton where I co-hosted Information Morning with fellow TRHS grad Jonna Brewer. I also hosted this program as a summer student (a long time ago). Great to be back.

Hello Bluesky world. Do you know this historic Canadian building?

Was curious about the resale market for Taylor Swift tickets in Vancouver this week. "Amazing Deal" clearly open the interpretation. Keep in mind, these are asking prices. And if you do buy a resold ticket, make sure it's from a trusted vendor. The VPD published some advice.

11:45 am Tuesday. Sackville, New Brunswick. It is a good week. Looking forward to "Make the Season Kind" on CBC on Friday.
