At it's root, pentesting finds problems. A lot of the dumber, easier to train side of pentest is being made obsolete by improved tooling and automation. But smart pentesters didn't like doing the easily automated hacking anyway, and cybersecurity is a constant arms race.

on the bright side, when Martial Law is enacted there are not enough active duty military to secure even Rhode Island for more than 2 weeks. they would NEVER be able to secure the entire US.
