There is not a single National Guard member who is trained to deal with immigration issues. Unless they're JAG officers, and they're not putting lawyers out there chasing people thru the desert.

Oh, I didn't say it wasn't a good idea. The military just isn't structured that way. It would take a massive amount of cooperation and planning of the higher ups, and I think they've purged all the "non loyalists" already from the upper echelons.

No, I don't think we will ever be the same country we were before. What will come out of it? I don't know. The military can't just decide collectively to step in. They follow orders. The CiC is trump, and hegseth is the SecDef. So that's not going to happen.

You're probably right. But once the election has been certified, there is legally nothing that can be done to overturn the results. Could someone be prosecuted for treason and hung? Sure, I'm up for that.
