Breaking News: A baby with a rare disorder made medical history by receiving the first custom gene-editing treatment. The technique used has the potential to help people with thousands of other uncommon genetic diseases. nyti.ms/4j49xBy

Postdoctoral position in Computational Biology open ! Our Lab is trying to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in establishing intestinal immune homeostasis and how a breakdown of these mechanisms may lead to diseases More info 👇 : lnkd.in/dQZq55nv lnkd.in/d6sbw59P

We often talk about IFNa and IFNb interchangeably as type I IFNs but it's becoming more and more clear that they're not at all interchangeable, and that they may even have opposing functions. IFNb seems to be surprisingly toleragenic in certain contexts. @lozanzi.bsky.social

Misinformation is winning not because it's true, but because it’s loud, emotional, and everywhere. It’s time for science to fight back. Aaron Mertz and I dissect the issue and offer solutions 👇 📖 www.nature.com/articles/s41... #SciComm @sinaiimmuno.bsky.social @aspeninstitute.bsky.social

The current administration’s narrative that Harvard (and all universities) feel “entitled” to federal dollars misleads the public. Nor are these funds a “privilege” 1/n

1/n I don’t understand the new Dept HHS assertion that childhood vaccines weren’t tested in placebo-controlled trials. That’s simply not true. I did a quick (non-exhaustive) PubMed search and they came up pretty quickly. For example here’s MMR
