Fun fact: before I published a book, I was one of those people. "I'm not getting a physical object, surely that's where a bulk of the cost lays!" I thought. No. Absolutely not. If a PDF has the same art & layout as the print book, congrats - it's worth the same. Good art & layout is EXPENSIVE.

I've just run my budget projection for once my roommate leaves if I can't find a new roommate and it's better than I thought but honestly not great! Assuming no big fluctuations in bills (which, y'know, HAH), I'll have about 300-500 dollars a month to eat/get gas/deal with emergencies/have any fun.

NYPD is over-enforcing violations for cyclists. If you get the flashers or sirens on a bike, my advice is to just not stop. You don’t have a license plate, they can’t identify you, and they cannot / will not chase you. They’re lazy and what they’re gonna cite you w wont hold up in court anyway.
