Anyone check in at a diner in Dearborn, MI, to see how the “Arabs” in that region feel about the news?

WGAS because it’s expected from him. Does it make him feel good to put out such a release?

This has been the “end game” since the Hamas attack. As soon as that happened, I mentioned to my wife that this was going to Bibi’s opportunity to clear out Gaza.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. I’ve got $2B sitting around to invest.

Kind of a pollyannaish view. I’ve come to the conclusion that our elected officials focus first upon their own self-interests, with constituents taking a back seat. To them it’s all about the mid-terms and job retention.

Wow, thanks for telling us what we already knew.
Let’s hope you and your colleagues continue your work of saving yourselves and jobs, while Democracy dies in our country. After all, it’s a “me, me, me, world,” and not what’s best for the constituents that elected you.

Apparently the only place members of Congress can keep a job, is Congress. Even though they are made up of doctors, lawyers, professionals, etc. So constituents, it’s a big FU as we need to retain our jobs in the mid-terms. That fact alone is way more important than doing what’s right.

Too late. Dems in Congress have known this was a possibility since J6.
comment in response to

Apparently they believe they could never get a job elsewhere if they lost their job in Congress. So they have to hold onto it. Must be some really lousy doctors, lawyers, professionals, etc., that also happen to be wealthy, serving as our elected representatives in Washington.

Congress is about satisfying their own self-interests, not those of their constituents. They seemingly govern like they could never get a job anywhere else. Even though their opportunities beyond Congress, would be endless.

Senate Dems lost me when they re-upped this perpetually useless person, as their leader.

That looks like House-Dems. Senate Dems are cowering, not protecting their constituents, only themselves.

They shouldn’t, but likely will. Not much one can do about it. Especially with the perpetually ineffective Chuck Schumer leading the disorganized opposition.

Seemingly for most members of Congress, on either side of the aisle, it’s doing what’s best for their own self-interests, over those of their constituents.

Who GAS about a primary challenge. Every member of Congress: can get a job elsewhere - DC analyst/consultant; fall back on their career before going to Congress; possibly has a pension from Congress; for the time being(?) can get Social Security; etc. They have options the public at large doesn’t.

Anything about trump placing a phone call to Bibi, in order to stop a deal from happening while Biden is POTUS? You know, like what happened 45 years ago when Reagan was about to take office from Carter.

So, the promise of 50% lower in gasoline and electricity prices he made in September on the campaign trail, likely won’t happen? Wow, I just took for granted it was a given because he said it. Looks like I won’t be paying 2003 and 1981 price levels, respectively, this year as expected.

IMO, WHH was a more effective POTUS in his month of dying, than the incoming guy was in his 4 year term.

Met one CEO (among 100s) who thought such a position should not be held longer than 10 yrs. Plenty of time to accomplish the goals they have set for the company. I agree. Anything longer is milking it for compensation/ego. Unfortunately many (BOD, investors) believe only that CEO can run the company

I have been holding-off on buying Wings tickets when they come to play the team
In my area. But I bit the bullet due to their recent turnaround in play. Several hours later, they get outplayed by the worst team in the league…🤬

Republicans/MGAs govern for their own self-interests, and not those of their constituents.
Probably 30 years ago now, I came to the conclusion, that there is Washington DC, and the rest of the US. Two completely different worlds.

But Joni said she was raped in college, and served in the military. She must be so proud of herself for supporting Hegseth.
BTW, don’t you wish some journalist, or Congressional colleague, would ask how her own personal experience, provides support for Hegseth?

Dammit. I just bought a gas guzzler, and a 10,000 sq ft home with no insulation, because in September on a campaign stop, he said both gasoline and electricity prices would be 50% lower in 2025. That would put them at 2003 and 1981 levels respectively.

So what you are saying, is that the 50% reduction in both gasoline electricity prices in 2025, that trump promised on the campaign trail in September, ain’t going to happen? Darn it. I was really hoping to pay what I did in 2003 and 1981, respectively.

On the campaign trail in September, trump promised a 50% reduction in gasoline and electricity prices in 2025. That would put both at 2003 and 1981 levels, respectively. We should all be happy with those when his administration achieves them, right. Only 357 more days to achieve those goals…
