Households are now battlefields…

The original comment is kind of giving "back in my day, we didn't have cellphones". The internet has been algorithm driven for decades. Building a platform that goes against the expected norm and then blaming users for not understanding is perplexing to say the least.

Good: increased dosage means even higher quality SoS posting Bad: I may not be awake to witness it in realtime Either way this is an outstanding/terrifying international diplomatic initiative.

And I am not saying Aesop Rock invented any of this, or is the only one. Far from it! What i am saying is I appreciate the stories that he tells and how he does it. And yes, I am currently listening to his latest album, Black Hole Superette 😀

And again: tight flows, great cadence and breath control, dope metaphors and wordplay, some sick beats. I don't think all rap music has to be about storytelling directly (though I'll argue that all rap has narrative by its very nature), but i love it when it does.

Back to Aesop Rock. I've always been a fan of his delivery and imagery, but in these later years he has developed a laser focus on telling incredible stories about small or large events from his life.

But the skill and foundations are right underneath the story as soon as you look. Kendrick Lamar is a complete fucking master at this on many levels. He tells some amazing stories that you listen to and almost forgets how he is rapping his ass completely off (Rent's due!).

What I think makes rappers next level is their ability to use the skills of rapping to tell stories. They aren't latching on to gimmicks or sacrificing cadence, delivery, and wordplay to storytell. They lean *into* these things. When done right, the rapping becomes almost invisible.
