it is beyond time to see your own complicity in the present moment: when you only mask at protests & never even consider doing so in the grocery store, pharmacy, on public transit, you contribute to a social climate able to criminalize protective tools. CHOOSE SOLIDARITY, prevent infection, mask up.

I find it a bit jarring, but I’m an “the actual sound of the prose” kind of person. I do settle into it after a bit, but for me it takes a little while

Also, AFTER you read…CoT I think…Google “wotfaq” and go the the Steelypips website. You’ll find a meticulously annotated version of what we were talking about in the lead up to KoD. (I don’t THINK it has spoilers past that, because it died shortly after)

One of the things I loved about having the show is it gave fans the chance to theorycraft again.

Same with Hadestown, which was being workshopped far earlier than it went to Broadway. “Why We Build the Wall” as a villain song is chilling

And the RJ got sick and eventually passed and it was heartbreaking. I don’t find the last three books as deeply moving as the first 11, but we’re all profoundly grateful they even exist.

It was wild. The internet was still a bit of a wild west but WoT fans were everywhere, endlessly theorizing while waiting for the next book. A popular forum had signatures filled with which theories you championed.

Hmmm, my first instinct is that there aren’t nearly enough blue tabs there, but it’s been quite awhile. Would love to see what you marked but only once you’re done. (Then what you’d mark as “foreshadowing” on a reread!)

So your wages are higher than before, but...
You can't afford college. Or a house. Or healthcare. Or childcare. Or to eat food that doesn't come chlorine rinsed and full of chemicals unfit for European consumption...
But you can afford a sweet phone, a few handheld gaming devices, and a gaming PC!

Definitely have a PC available, will message thank you!

There may also be a reread/listen because I’m having to go back into the office full-time, and that may get me through many, many hours of that particular unpleasantness.

My first #WoTCon will be bittersweet, but I’ll still be there. Joy and grief are better when shared with people who understand, after all.

If it helps, and this is definitely not really spoilers, a Sitter is someone literally with a seat in the Hall and can vote on things. A sister is just a generic word for any Aes Sedai.

Like, so many people are talking about the loss of a business with genuine grief (and making videos about it!) and not once engaging with how plantations were built and what they actually represent in American history. It's wild to do that with your whole name and face attached.

In related news, my playlist of OBC albums for shows I’ve seen live is now over 22 hours long.

Erm…actually the show builds on that relationship *more* and we were all thrilled at how much more time together and chemistry they get in the show…

I have been loving all of these. So much fun to see how things land with no prior knowledge.

lol that poor typo. I meant “source of *stress*” of course. And the urge to try to counterbalance the ugly is strong, I get it.

Honestly think that’s probably for the best. Seems like it’s been kind of a source of areas for you checking in on it.

Very similar to cat dancer, but mouse on a fishing pole, ESPECIALLY the mice we found that are made of buffalo fur. Also crinkle ball toys.

Oh nooooo I’m so sorry. I’ve dealt with RLS since I was a teenager. It sounds so innocuous and it really REALLY is not.

Many fans (me included, consider Eye of the World one of the most “okayist” books of the series. Dunno if that helps.

That’s what I was thinking of honestly. I don’t recall that, so I’ll have to catch it in my next reread, but I was thinking “I know how recessive this set of traits is! Why would two cultures literally across a continent from one another share them?”

(To be clear, I *did* pick up they were both light-eyed gingers! Just…I hadn’t really thought about how that makes Rand’s parentage even possible)

There are so many good systems out there that don't see the light of day because D&D has an outsized grip on what a TTRPG is to people.
