Can you imagine what an absolute misery it must be for the person who completed all the asshole side quests, and even more so for the people that person knows?

Isn't this pic from the time he asked a kid if they still believed in Santa Claus because at 8 (iirc) it was "marginal"?
"Marginal President" might also be more fitting.

Skipping over the "are the kids right?" part, does it feel to you like 1100 is "social media"?
Just feels like a needlessly oppositional framing -- hippie punching to prove some bona fides. (To whom?)

I'm curious about the thought process that led to "Regardless of what social media wants."
As of now, the post about this issue has ~250 responses, ~850 reposts -- for ease, let's assume they all are negative.
So let's say ~1100 people on the internet are saying you're wrong.

Dems: We're contesting every race -- meaning we want to run in every race!
Reps: We're contesting every race -- meaning we want to throw out votes from people we don't like!

Actually, it was only now, listening to your episode, that I learned this movie was considered a failure.

People in my generation talk about how they grew up with a random VHS that they watched a lot, and so thought that film was a pillar of culture, and only later learned that it was considered a failure.
Johnny Dangerously is that movie for me.

And I’d love a digital assistant that could, say, look up a dozen different slow cooker chicken recipes and help decide what the best version might be. IBM’s Watson had a side line doing something like that (finding unusual combinations where the flavor profile worked).
But these LLMs today? Feh

I bought something off a guy who didn’t speak much English and we used a lot of google translate to communicate and that was ok.
But when he told me he used ChatGPT to help write the marketplace copy, i understood why the copy had such inaccuracies.

Does that mean you’ve found them useful?
Because I haven’t. I asked one to generate me a fizzbuzz function in cobol and it failed. I asked it to invent funny magic items for D&D and it said “a potion of flying might be funny in some contexts.”

Co-sign, with the caveat that there'll prolly be a media wave asking "why are Democrats hurting people?" -- because some media think Democrats are the only adults, have agency, etc.
I don't think the Dems should try to avoid that take by giving in, I think they need to prep their counterarguments.

Rushing out with kiddo for improv rehearsals*, I grabbed an apple for myself; when kiddo asked for more snack and I gave him my apple, he gave me such a "what am I supposed to do with this" look, before gnawing away as best he could.

You call out a lie because (a) it's a lie and (b) there's people in the middle who deserve the truth.

The people who watch Fox news already know in their hearts that the media is against President Trump -- no counter evidence can sway them and no positive evidence is necessary to convince them.
You don't call out a lie to convince those people.

I think this is the wrong frame.
The WH and conservatives will declare the media biased if they don't like the reporting. And they have a media machine to push that.
The media has tried to defang that attack for years by steadfastly not calling out lies and by printing "some say" articles. BUT..

Personally, I think the proper frame for this is not "He's not wrong" but "Either he had a brain worm -- and so has compromised cognition -- or he claimed he did to avoid spousal support -- and so is a scumbag. So I won't bother to listen to this nepobaby."

Altman shows a stunning lack of self reflection: “Why don’t people love me? I wanted to do something good or whatever and have so far totally failed! Love me!”
We’re gonna find out his computer intelligence is a really good match for human intelligence, only it matches his shitty brain.
