Itβs a blank chrome install I have for testing extension development, but none were enabled.

chrome doing way too much. this is right after I force quit vscode which randomly jumped to 11gb of memory. then to 9gb after a restart of vscode.
then the chrome app that I had idle in the background with no tabs open for extension testing earlier decided it wanted to fuck with me

I'm hosting my own PDS (pds.indexx.dev) but I'm too worried to move my main to it haha
Last time I had it set up, it deleted all repositories on restart.. soo yeah I'm skeptical

update: re-reading this when it's no longer 6 am and i'm not tired as hell, and realizing I was way too aggressive over bookmarks, sorry lol

good luck lol
comment in response to

I donβt get the necessity of having private bookmarks. Plus a lot of people use that one feed that works by replying with a pin emoji, which is also public. So there at least some users that are fine with bookmarks being public.
comment in response to

every implementation I've seen of bookmarks has pissed me off so much. I just want a bookmark button that creates records on my repo, and then a feed or page somewhere to view my bookmarks (maybe even by collection)
@skymark.me is what I use primarily, but I hope an official system comes eventually

this site doesn't run on a data center look

comment in response to

clearly a fluke of the site, as we all know data centers are useless and only used for ponzi schemes
Shelley Powers would never do this to us
comment in response to

Self-hosted AT protocol components don't need to be ran on a data center scale. Bluesky uses data centers because of it's size, while self-hosted components such as the fire-hose or relay by people other than Bluesky can run fine without needing to be scaled much since less users depend on them.

andddd just like I expected, you're going to ignore me and just label me as a nerd because you refuse to understand that Bluesky isn't meant to be the next centralized Twitter
comment in response to
post
The whole point of Bluesky is to be the framework for future projects on the protocol. That being said, every feature that isn't possible at the current moment (e.g. private data) shouldn't be jankily implemented in a centralized way just for Bluesky.

human.social/xrpc/com.atp... returns DIDs that are associated with a different PDS, which is also broken.

I wonder if it'd be a good idea to make it make an entry in the Apple journal app with each status as well
though, the app expects more than a short blurb so prob not
comment in response to

insane if that is true, esp considering how many sites point-to/use the official instance

labelers are not useless, and are for the user to decide what they do want to see, what they want warnings for, and when to not show stuff at all.
suspensions are necessary in cases where content is illegal, or hurts service for other users such as API spamming

I'm pretty sure the file is supposed to be located at "https://bsky.neververy4.com/.well-known/atproto-did", and atproto-did is meant literally and not like a placeholder. Instead of bsky.neververy4.com/.well-known/... it should just be bsky.neververy4.com/.well-known/... with the same file.
