I am here to engage in civil discourse. Centrist democrat, pragmatist, liberal in thought.
Even if we disagree, happy to have a productive dialogue. Insults and not sticking to facts = block. This is my safe space and I don't owe you anything.

that "Take2" account just screams paid misinformant. "One rule: Democracy[?]" Probably an Elno shill.

And to compound that frustration, it's probably a computer programmed to read the claim a specific way such that it returned denied. No human intervention.
Also, claim coding and billing is increasingly automated, noone on that side to ask "does this make sense?"
Let's get AI out of Healthcare.

god damnit I like my cheap shit from gina thats provided to me by workers making $2.50/hr…which is totally cool because, soon we’ll be tipping them an AI-suggested minimum of 45% for the 90 hours per week they work, all tax free.

and also, why they shove his regular program into the 6:00 pm slot, just before they flip to shark tank reruns for the overnight.
wonder how much reserve it takes for Dave or Carl to not just sucker punch cram-it.

4) Artifical Intelligence is the most contradictory term out there.

1) Mangione allegedly lashed out at a broken system, one that Bryan Thompson also wanted to reform.
2) It's far, far more complicated then just "insurance bad." The entire system is a mess, top to bottom.
3) Healthcare should not be a for-profit venture under ANY circumstances.

Nooo we agree on how to fix it.
The problem is 535 of us working in a marble adorned fortress can’t agree. And a plurality of them have accepted payouts to ensure things remain as is.

I understand your position, and it saddens me that more people are forced to make that choice.
I’ve been fighting for reform from the inside for over 10 years, and voices like mine are being told to have a seat. Giving up is not outside the realm for me at this point.
Be well.

an ER visit could easily be $100,000 or more. A surgical procedure could exceed $25,000.
No $15,000 is not ideal, but it’s less.

Simplistic thinking. Mangione allegedly did what many wish they could do, the ultimate revenge against a system they feel they are powerless to control.
McDonalds employee disrupted this by exposing Mangione.
The simplistic response is to punish McDonalds. X contradicts Y, therefore avoid X.

Some Blue Crosses, including the one in my state, are still non-for-profit. Blue Cross is structured as a federation of multiple independent insurers that share brand standards. Basically franchises that can make 90% of their own decisions.
But - yes - insurance should not be a for profit venue.

I believe this was in the works before the election...a tour guide I was with mentioned this to us in October, on our way into Belfast.

The number of mistakes and stupid crap I saw with the rise of claims processing being automated. If the diagnoses were put in the wrong order, it completely changed the outcome.

I agree. This isn’t to say the system doesn’t need work. Oversimplifying a complicated problem isn’t going to help anyone.

I’m very well liked in this state. You are new here. We have conversations with our neighbors. And very little tolerance
for unjustified insults.
You’ll figure it out soon enough.

Actually, never mind. Just read your other posts. You’re obviously an agitator who only wants to hear what they want to hear, and everyone else - potential ally or no - is automatically useless. What a waste of space.

Enlighten me then. I also work in the field. Tell me how I’m wrong. I have no respect for people unwilling to engage in discourse.

95% of us doing this work are doing the best we can to operate a system that’s about to keel over and have a heartattack. So yeah, it hits a nerve when I see it simplistically watered down to “insurance bad, everyone else good.”
I respectfully await what I hope is a civil dialogue around this. 5/5

Ultimately, insurers get held hostage…perhaps not equally, but to an extent, as the members. It is, for the most part, your money being used to pay claims out. No, insurance shouldn’t be a for profit industry - nothing in healthcare should. It is a human right to have reliable access to care. 4/

And what happens when insurers don’t cave to the unreasonable demands of these for profit hospitals? “We’re leaving your companies network.” “Well we’re still gonna release that drug, but your members just won’t be able to get it.” 3/

The problem, as I see it, is the absolute runaway cost of care in the United States. And hospitals have won the war, through consolidation and strongarming insurers to accept what they want to charge for care. Or pharma charging tens of thousands for a patented cancer or weight loss drug. 2/

This is not anywhere near the same as slaves rising up against their masters. Health insurance serves as a necessary evil in a society that tolerates for profit hospitals otherwise charging $250,000+ for something as basic as giving birth. Is it perfect? Far from. 1/

Yes, I do! Because I'm a mature adult who can see past another person's choice. What do you want to do about it?
