I have so much ink I never got around to using them (just play w/the box lol) & they’re all sludge w/in weeks. They’re shimmery, too. I mean, regular samples are $$ (labour to make), but I’d rather get more w/o the box & in safer vials.
(Plastic vials eventually evaporate, too, just not THAT fast)

Holy shit. I just looked up the name of the sample box (they have cutsey names for everything. It’s an “ink charger set”) & 3 of those tiny-ass bottles are $15 USD !!!!!
FIVE DOLLARS each for 5mL of ink in a fancy jar that evaporates almost instantly.
Gobsmacked.
(I did not pay that much)

I’m mostly just not into the pens, but I get the appeal. They’re heavy, slippery & too big for me. At least the one I have is. (I won it I think? It was a years ago.)
The plastic ones are versions of the Platinum Meteor or Kaweco Perkeo.
The ink sample *boxes* are fidgety & satisfying, I will say.

Also!
@wellappointeddesk.bsky.social is left handed & has had a blog featuring mostly left-handers and fountain pens for years!
From what I understand, it depends mostly on if you over or underwrite what kind of pen you might work well with.

Well, and they use AI slop art for their “fancy” bottle packaging.
And those fancy bottles like to randomly explode.
And their little sample stacks don’t seal so they evaporate.
And and and…
Yeah. Not a fan (I do have one of their initial pens when it was in 2 colour options & some samples.)

I quit buying kindle books, only use it for library/libby now. I’ll connect it long enough to update the library book & then disconnect it again.
I’ll buy physical books if I can’t wait for the library, now.

I even have to keep my kindle offline bc it will discharge the battery so fast. It’s still perfect. I am going to be SO MAD when it finally dies.
I got mad at the kindle app things cos I’d never see the awards until way after I’d failed it (like daily reading) so there was no way to fix it. Assy.

Whelp, I’m glad I have an ancient Kindle that barely shows me books, much less all the extra stuff. I’m terrible with badges/awards & get pissed at their existence bc of it. (I only know what you’re referring to bc I used to have the kindle app on my phone.)

They really can be worth it! It’s just hard to recognise it’s happening when you’re in the thick of it.
I’m still not entirely sure if I’m actually cold or if it’s my perception of my temp has changed? It’s so weird! And kinda scary in this boiling world?
I’m glad you’re aware & that they help!

So many meds affect how you regulate temps, it’s under-reported but it can be REALLY bad.
I find after my colectomy (removed my inflamed colon) that I’m freezing *constantly*, until I am SUDDENLY BOILING & I still have no idea where that line is.

It’s getting close to 30 years and I can *still* feel the grippy claws of that thing on my right ankle. I have NO IDEA how/why it managed all that, but wow. Nofun!
Lap bees are also nofun bad!
*shudder*

I am very conscientious of other people’s unusual names/pronunciations since I have *never* had someone mispronounce mine.
I do love to tell telemarketers “eh close enough” when they butcher @buttplug.engineer ‘s last name. That response is even more confusing to them than correcting them.

Sweating SUCKS. It’s necessary, but UGH I hate the SENSORY NIGHTMARE.

I didn’t really mind them too much, but that was VERY NOPE.
I was a new driver, was bopping along going out late during the summer & was almost at a stop sign.
I DID remember to put the car in park before exiting the vehicle screaming & flailing. It was super traumatic for all involved (bug + me)

I always use the excuse that running the AC is still cheaper than an ER visit.
It’s not been dreadful (yet) for us this season, but our time will come.

Do NOT miss the midwest cicadas. I had one drop into an open car window once and attach itself to my sock WHILE I WAS DRIVING (in the dark!!!)
I have not screamed louder than one of those before, and probably not that loud since.

We’re one st. from a natural area & we get all sorts of screaming. Been a few really horny birds lately, a coyote (2?) overnight & when it warms up enough we’ll get frogs (I think neighbour down the street has a water feature.)
Plus usual backyard chickens, kids, BART, Richmond’s illegal fireworks.

DM or email me where to ship something if you’re ok with it (or I can send a link of the one I got & we can discuss, I should have grabbed a couple more but felt absurd just picking up two cos I know how long they last for me.)

(And I could possibly mail you one of these samplers I got from the art sale as I will never use the entirety of two 9x12 dot sheets from Daniel Smith if you’d be up for it. It’s a weird assortment bc it’s a specific artist’s sampler but there are some fun dots in there.)

And I’ve discovered that 1. i need a billion options to play with (dot cards/samplers/shells are great for this) and 2. I will *never* use an entire pan of paint. Like, ever.
That said, I paint smaller & irregularly so it depends on your style/focus.
Why I mention it is dot cards are fun

Okay, so it took much longer than I expected to be functional again.
Not sure if your art is focussed on quantity or variety?
Why I ask is I got a couple of those Daniel Smith dot sample sheets at an art store closure recently & they feel tiny but the dots last AGES.

Not quite to that point yet, the prodrome & aura for me today are intense! (I get them with high pressure weather; I think most ppl get them with low.)
It’s so weird & frustrating what words get lost!

So, I made a very concerted effort in my young teens (once I started zines/pen pals/online friendships) to wholly screw up my entire vocabulary. I am as solidly from Oklahoma as you can be, but say on line/in line similarly to yourself; soda; carry bag; trolley; I use UK-English spellings & metric.
