Why would any athlete from one of the travel-banned countries accept an exemption to compete in the U.S.? It’s nakedly offensive.

Right; it doesn’t actually matter if you feel like he eats hate for breakfast or whatever— he has literally endorsed the Great Replacement Theory.

She’s just so dumb that it’s literally painful to witness.

My husband has a very similar problem and has gone through drug treatment and two epidural injections if you want his perspective. Seems to be an increasingly common problem at a younger age…

Advocates for Afghan allies of the international community have been yelling about this for months to almost no effect… and a lot of the high-profile advocates are combat veterans, which used to get them at least a little attention.

As a university professor, I can tell you that none of their students are actually reading those books.

An outstanding example of this literally just took place when Ukraine used $600 drones to wipe out Russian planes with almost no casualties. You can argue about the extent to which Ukraine is underpowered, but they’re definitely underpowered.

I think it’s pretty clear that the only people Thom Yorke talks to about this issue are Jonny Greenwood and his bonkers TERF anti-vaxx Zionist wife

Feels like no one who believes this can be described as other than a loony

I think a lot comes down to the role of affect/truthiness in fascist politics. It feels good and therefore true to Vance + others to say that Americans put men on the moon. The importance of this in their politics is undersold.

2/ @micarosenberg.bsky.social, Perla Trevizo, Gabriel Sandoval, Ronna Risquez, Adrian Gonzalez and I have been reporting on what the government did to these 238 men, beginning with this story today: www.propublica.org/article/trum...

Stephen Miller is also a known proponent of this in its neo-Nazi sense; the Trump administration is in no way accidentally using this term.

Literally a whole episode of that show is about the city of Houston.

Look up the 2024 study “They Don’t Read Very Well,” which has been widely circulating. One of its findings is that students who score well on tests that get them into colleges can still have very poor reading comprehension.

Literally something that almost anyone who regularly attends Jewish services or knows anything about Jewish prayers knows. Not, like, an easy mix-up. God, these people are intellectual wafers.

This is an inevitable outgrowth of trans-exclusive feminism as white imperial feminism, and soooo many people have tried to point this out (as well as that this is why TERFism has such a hold on the UK).

This is the kind of BS that soooo many university administrations are pushing on professors right now.

(Extremely over the framing of global Jewry as uniquely culpable when Christian Zionists outnumber Jews of all kinds and American tax dollars paid by all Americans are funding giant swathes of it.) The genocide in Gaza isn't about Jews. It's about colonialism.

Just an argument that could be effortlessly destroyed in about three minutes. Like what “biological reality” does he think race has? He is intentionally playing dumb about what race actually is.

The practical reality, though, is that Israelis have to be reintegrated into global society in some form at some point. That poses a real challenge.

Grad school is where you go to read books and slowly realize that most of the people writing books are writing them for the sole purpose of fulfilling requirements of jobs they got for being outstandingly mediocre.

I don’t know how one begins to bring a society back from that.

I’ve worked with so many refugees who desperately want to learn English bc they can’t get a job without it, but their best bet is an intermittent charity class run by unqualified teachers on Zoom.

This is one of those times when the way media choose to frame the incident makes a big difference.

Was that the sound of hell freezing over (with the Israeli government, presumably, inside)?
