It's fine, I'm old and very secure in who I am, but that kind of thing might hurt someone earlier along their path I know you didn't mean harm

I've cut that particular knot and can now access pickles at any time despite my dainty hands, because things like this exist

Especially a trans woman you've never interacted with before? Why can't people be even a little bit normal around trans people for 5 minutes without catching a block

Thank *you* - I haven't laughed that well in several years
comment in response to post
I was laughing so uncontrollably that I woke up my entire family, couldn't explain what I was doing cackling in the laundry room after bedtime, hyperventilated trying to talk, and woke up with a *glorious* bruise on my hip

I still occasionally run into someone online, make friends, talk for months, and then eventually right in the middle of a conversation we'll mutually realize they're in my downline I'll never have Kat Salamander numbers but it's still nice knowing they're out there living

I lost track of my counter a few years ago, but I got a *lot* of my numbers from posting Button Question polls on the Bird Site

Can't believe I almost ambulanced myself over a particularly well-timed use of the word "broseph"

The downside is I have to drive 4+ hours for a proper haircut, but totally worth it

The first fanwork is a 2-book Craigfic where the pickup team grabbed the wrong person so they had to fake a washout The crossover is isekai-ish, they don't die but Girl not-Craig and her sponsor wind up in 2003 California going to high school with the WYFFH gang Neither is close to finishing yet
comment in response to post
It's a pretty good fic, but completely nonsense without a hundred thousand words of context
comment in response to post
I found a google docs WYFFH/Dorley AU-fic crossover fanfic but it doesn't make sense unless you've read the other Dorley fanfic the OCs are from, and possibly another AU of that Dorley fanfic because I'm not sure yet whether it's an AU of an AU, or an AU of an AU of an AU

Bicalutamide is the real champion though

If you're making subculture stuff, can get word-of-mouth within the target subculture and keep your budget sized for the target audience, filmmaking is a more viable career now than it was when corporate distribution was make or break Also, no more up front physical media costs for direct to video

Nvm I found a guide

There's been an explosion of certain types of low-budget indie films that really scratch my particular itch but "big release" stuff has collapsed into Sequel Soup with a large side dish of cynical remakes

The *last* one I bought (new, not to replace something sentimental) on VHS was Titanic; too long to fit on one tape at regular quality so it came as a 2-pack and you have to get up and change tapes when the fake "intermission" theater curtain graphic comes up on screen

She's a hairdresser now, and the only one I trust to touch my hair with a pair of scissors

I rented Transformers: the Movie when it was a new release (I also still own dozens of VHS tapes and a working player) (I also used to have a Betamax machine in my room that my shit father used as a babysitter, which is how I got into dubbed anime as a small child) Yes I'm An Old, why do you ask?

I'm a middle-aged veteran who served under Don't Ask Don't Tell and this rolls back even the "Don't Ask" bit, That and there's already an executive order in place that stopped us from being able to get our HRT and speech therapy and referral letters and such from the VA, which is why I'm DIY now

I happen to have gotten a dozen sets a while back; the plants are so hardy they're basically unkillable in a garden bed, each produces 3-5 berries per season even if you let them grow too close together and they multiply by runner like they're trying to conquer the planet (12 became 200+ in 5 years)

I read one that only had one chapter so far, about a closeted student clocking Maxine I think?
comment in response to post
My *freshman* year the basketball cheer captain clocked my closeted ass and wouldn't stop braiding my hair and painting my nails (clear polish only) while saying nice affirming things to me in study hall, so maybe? That was the mid '90s so WYFFH feels almost like a what-if story written just for me
comment in response to post
okay no but seriously i need people to read wyffh the same way that i got everyone to read dorley..... alyson's done it again folks she can't be stopped

I've had the bones of this story rattling around my braincase since forever, but I felt not good enough to be the one to write it Fortunately I've read a lot of *really* bad fanfic (among a lot more really good fanfic) over the last few months, which boosted my confidence enough to give it a go
comment in response to post
The thing I'm writing is currently on ScribbleHub (username InscrutableJane) if anyone's interested in Traumatic Backstory Events and Unthinkable Betrayals that will eventually lead to a happy ending

Unfortunately it's not all yuri, book 1 is straight and there's a straight T4T one as well (though that one's kind of a side quest)
comment in response to post
I jumped over to Zoe Storm's Bradford McKinley Chronicles series which is somewhat about Queer track & field athletes, might somewhat scratch the itch and each book is pretty self-contained as far as closure goes Available on Itch and Patreon but Patreon is probably a better deal

Gay Cheerleaders is soooo good, shame there's hardly any fanfic I'm busy writing Traumatized Closeted Queer College Student atm (still in the depressing extended prologue rn sadly) or I would try to chip in, and while I still might once this project is finished it'll be a while.
comment in response to post
Part 1 is memories from the main character's childhood through age 17. I'll try to mix in a few happy chapters but fair warning, most of these memories range from bad to horrific. After Part 1 awfulness becomes the exception rather than the rule, and I promise the eventual payoff is worth it.

Upsetti spaghetti that there aren't enough transmasc fiction/memes/webcomics/whatever to satisfy you? Get off your lazy ass and write your own then, instead of complaining that transfems aren't doing it for you! Be the change you want to see in the world instead of being shitty!

I'm gonna need some up-to-date blueprints or something to understand the how and why of the Dorley dumbwaiters, or at least a good fanfic one-shot from the perspective of whoever is sending food down during the lockdown, to understand any of this
