The funny thing is if he could get his head out of his ass, he could totally use this for his plugins (and I’m cool with that!). But bro, you violated multiple guidelines and had multiple warnings. The ban is valid. Now go set up your own repo.

Columbia canceled my class on Race and Media, but I'm teaching it anyway. All thanks to people power and community support-- especially from you all on Bluesky! Happy to announce I'll be teaching Race Media and International Affairs 101 online-- hosted by D.C.'s MLK Jr. Memorial Library!

That was a thing of beauty for a guy who just learned the outfield!

At a loss, I flippantly say, "Highway patrol doesn't like us running power cables from Chicago to Naperville." Silence. "OH! You're MOVING the server!" "What did you think we meant?!" "The data! It only takes you like 15 minutes to do that for me!" This appeased my coworker. 5/5

This got me into an endless loop of "But WHY!?" to the point I wondered if I was talking to a toddler. Finally I say "Because we have to turn the server OFF." That gets a new reply. "Why do we have to turn it off!?!" I stare. What the hell? 4/5

Okay, was the code bad? No. Was the server down? No. Was ... there some massive deliverable we hadn't know about? No. No, the problem was my coworker couldn't understand why we had to use the backup server and was panicking. So I explain we're moving the server, but the backup will be fine. 3/5

The whole email explained we were moving the server and the backup (which I just pushed the code to) was working just fine as a hot-swap failover, so we were confident about it. Also we'd done a bunch before. As I'm walking back in from lunch, a coworker grabbed me: "There's a problem!" 2/5

I think we need to revisit the idea of TACO trucks on every corner.

“So you’re from the East?” No I’m from Ohio… Blank stares. I had to unpack my lineage.

Cantillo? He’s been so good, I wonder if they plan to flip him back to Starter since poor Lively is out.

I lucked out. I didn’t even notice that I’d cut the other side of my finger until after I got the big bandage off! Doc had glued it while I wasn’t looking

No nerve damage beyond the superficial you expect from a cut. Seems to be okay, and I get stitches out end of the week / early next week.
