I called SSA frequently in last year or so on behalf of my 90-year old Uncle. The recording said if you are calling about applying for SS Disability, the wait is 365 days to apply. I usually waited 2 hours for a person and they were always helpful. SSA was under staffed. Now it will be a nightmare
