I was working on the hill at the time the ACA passed. One of the things that gets lost in these discussions is that the alternative to the ACA was not M4A or universal healthcare. The alternative to the ACA was getting nothing.

This is why I've been 3D printing tiny, loud 'ICE whistles' to hand out at the library where I work. So if anyone gets approached by these masked thugs, or sees someone else getting abducted, they can make a LOT of noise. Distract the thugs, and get the whole community watching & recording.

Villains are not actually interesting. We think they are because interesting villains make for better stories.
But stories require suspension of disbelief.
Real villains are usually boring as hell, because they're basic as hell: selfishness and cruelty don't require depth.

3/4 Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz made a surprise visit. She found dozens crammed into a tiny room for 48+ hours, forced to sleep, eat, & relieve themselves in the same space. It’s not just Krome—over 48,000 people are now held in ICE detention nationwide. Overcrowding and neglect are the norm.

2/4 Conditions are appalling. Rotting food. No beds. Men defecating next to each other on stone floors. 2 immigrants—Maksym Chernayak & Genry Ruiz Guillen—already died this year. Lawyers, family members, & detainees describe illness, starvation, & despair. This is government-sanctioned cruelty.
