I did an update to include a quick analysis of the likelihood of 0 red cards in 50 matches for Manchester City and that did suggest it is more than just random chance, -2.4 mean absolute deviations from the expected mean is pretty out there

Two things can be true at the same time. Send threats to referees and/or their family is totally unacceptable and I’d be happy for those “fans” to be punished. The PGMOL needs an overhaul with the whole concept of refereeing in the uk needing a complete a rethink.

PGMOL backing a decision the majority of pundits and fans of all clubs disagree with is simple: closing ranks and protecting their pals instead of arriving at the right outcome. Unjust, terrible process, non-transparent and lacking integrity

If they aren't prepared to admit they were wrong here, they will never admit they are wrong. If you never admit you are wrong, you will never change. Bin them. Start a new organisation that is actually representative of the league. Bar any PGMOL person. Import foreign refs in the meantime.

The PGMOL statement has come out about abuse towards Michael Oliver. Which is obviously terrible. No one or their families deserve abuse. However, it doesn’t mean because of the abuse, we can just let poor referring standards and awful decisions slide. It’s unacceptable

As it stands, Myles Lewis-Skelly is suspended for 3 games due to that travesty of a decision from Michael Oliver. We have to appeal. The red card alone was unjust, missing three games on top of that is just not acceptable.

do any americans go overseas, ride a bullet train, and think: nah, we don't need this?

We live in a world where most so-called journalists, no matter their beat, are so incapabae of just saying what they see with their own eyes, be it a Nazi salute or a red card challenge.

Myles Lewis-Skelly's red card means he will miss Man City, Newcastle and Leicester.

The refereeing in this league is making it increasingly harder to take it seriously

It matters that we complain about this even though we won. This shit can't be allowed to continue.

What is the point of trying to analyse a game of football when a referee does that? I'm sorry, but you cannot convince me that's anything other than an utterly corrupt decision from an official who has done this to us before - AT THIS VERY GROUND. PGMOL and Oliver can just fuck off.

Real cup-tie stuff in the second half, but this game should be over by now. Penalty miss aside, Havertz had two great chances to score, Rice should put that header away, and now we've got extra-time ahead of the derby on Wednesday. Our need for a clinical forward never more evident.

Havertz lost that game for Arsenal. If anything, it puts more pressure on the club to sign a damn striker. #arsenal #arsenalfc #afc

How people expect Arsenal fans to react to PL refs consistently being desperate to send off their players for insignificant bullshit.

Gonna be very surprised if Arsenal make it through this with 11 men unless Arteta replaces some of the carded players. And, as usual, it's not because Arsenal are being dirty, it's because there's two levels of refereeing

Ethan Nwaneri becomes Arsenal’s second youngest ever goal scorer in the Premier League era at just 17 years and 247 days. Only Cesc Fabregas beats him with a goal at 17 years and 113 days.

Yes!!!! Ethan!!! ❤️

Lovely play from Nwaneri to work a shooting position, but his effort curls just past the far post.

So great to have Odegaard back. ❤️ Let’s go Ethan!!!

Just want to say. Regardless of the absence of shots on goal this match… Raya has been solid today.

Wow. I didn’t know he had that in him. Super sub? #Arsenal

Simon Hooper is jumping through some hoops to justify these cards

A properly dominant half from Arsenal, by some distance the best side. Superb goal from Saka, some of the interplay throughout has been really impressive. I do worry about how soft all the yellow cards this ref is handing out are - including the Forest one at the end. #arsenal

First poor corner I’ve seen from Saka in a long while.

Once again playing against the officials as well. Let’s get another and put a stop to this. 🔴⚪️

These calls are getting ridiculous. #ARSNFO

What will it take for the officiating to improve in the league?

Silky play. Too bad we couldn’t get that on target. #COYG

This linesman has it in for us. 🤬 #Arsenal #AFC

we get our goal 🔴⚪️ #Arsenal
