How do you find pin oak to work with? Is it similar to white or red oak?

I’ve seen it happen, so I’m going to implement this trick right away on my next build. Thanks, David! #woodjoinery #handmadefurniture #davidbinningtonsavage #kerf #tenon #mortiseandtenon #lostartpress

Also picked up the trick of drilling a hole at the base of the kerf (slot for wedge) to prevent the tenoned wood from splitting past the kerf when you drive in the wedge.

The legs and stretchers are all oak, the joints all backwedged mortise and tenon which makes for a very study tool. I think it could support a 1,000 lb anvil.
