This is a big deal. The GAO is outside the executive branch for good reason. Yet the R congress has chosen to ignore their findings, and those of the senate parliamentarian, to do whatever the hell they want. Our senators have *got* to step up and stop Senate Rs' objectively lawless behavior.

Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring. They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died. France also gave us this land as American soil.

My grandfather, Fred Dingler, just before going off to fight in WWII. He was a tail-gunner on a B-17, shot down over Germany in 1944, and spent the rest of the war in Stalag Luft IV in Poland. He hated Nazis and autocrats, and if he were around to see the regime today, he'd have been frothing mad!

My two kids are planning to study stage management and biochem. We've told one to apply in the UK and Ireland. The other has French citizenship; she will also apply in the UK/EU. We have among the best unis in the world, and our kids have to consider other options. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/21/u...
